Thanks to @mkorman.bsky.social and everyone who came out to the Edgemoor forum. It was great to meet residents, talk about our campaign, and discuss the future of our community!
This week I’m sharing my take on the budget. Here’s my topline takeaway. The County Executive is proposing a 6% property tax increase. I’m against it. Now is not the time to raise taxes when families are struggling and thousands of people in our community have lost jobs due to Trump’s cuts.
It was great to be joined last week by Governor @martinomalley.bsky.social at BabyCat Brewery Bethesda as we enter the most critical stretch of the campaign!

A top priority of the County Council is providing the necessary oversight and accountability to ensure our schools are delivering for every student. Watch my latest video to learn more about my plans for MCPS.
Thank you to the Bannockburn Civic Association for hosting a District One Forum today and for everyone who attended! You can watch my responses from the forum here:
Attended the DC Water meeting on Potomac Interceptor. Good Qs from residents, riverkeepers, watersports stakeholders. Need more monitoring, swift efforts for full remediation, and a clear enforcement and rehabilitation plan. This will be a long road. I will be a part of the solution.
When I worked at the Council a decade ago, Metro was in some dark days. I was a champion for getting Metro back on track, and on the Council, I’ll be an advocate to expand access and transit options.
I'm proud to have the support of my friend and District 1 resident Daniel Langenkamp, who has been a leading advocate for making our roads safer. Watch our latest video to learn about the work we've done and what more we can do to ensure everyone can safely drive, walk, bike, and roll.
Building infrastructure cheaply and efficiently is a big challenge, and a lot of times, Montgomery County hasn't gotten it right. In this video, I talk about a time when the County did get it right, and where I was part of the solution: the Great Seneca Transit Network.

When I worked at the Council, I was the person you called when you needed a tree trimmed or a pothole filled. I know how to run a strong constituent service operation, and I’ll make sure my office gets back to you quickly when you call with a concern.
I’ve heard from many Wootton cluster parents who are deeply concerned about "Option H" and the proposed Wootton High School relocation. I share their concerns about the proposal and how we got here. Read my full statement here:
A deeply shocking and distressing situation today at Wootton High School. I am grateful to our first responders and MCPS faculty. My thoughts are with Wootton students and families affected by this tragedy and I will be continuing to follow the response.

One of the last pieces of legislation I drafted at the Council was a bill to create a composting program. Ten years later, we haven’t made progress. On the Council, I’ll work to deliver a composting program and be an advocate for ways Montgomery County can continue its leadership on the environment.
