Front view of the storehouse. Heavy, grey stonework for the main part with wooden shingles on the roof and a dilapidated shed on the right. One of the City Guard is standing outside although he’s wondering when he’ll be replaced by the Foulburg Watch.

A rear view showing the heavy stonework to more effect. The roof is capped on both ends by barge boards and its base is quite verdant. The City Guardsman has wandered round the back to see if there’s any sign of the FW.

Teeny bit more Englestaadt 😊 It’s a storehouse for outside the city walls as we won’t just be playing inside the city. Made from ‘scraps’ that were sitting around, looking innocent.

At least they weren’t on your head.

It’s not good really because they strip trees of buds when flowering and the trees get barer every year. A detriment for a variety of reasons.

It’s not really because they strip trees of buds when flowering. We used to live in Surbiton and had very large horse chestnuts by the railway. Parakeets would come every year and strip the buds and the HC’s would get barer every year. Not good for a variety of reasons.

Painted two story semaphore tower rendered and painted a warm cream colour on a grey background. The roof is various shades of red, tan and brown (god, they take ages to do 😂) and the semaphore on top is painted in a wood brown. I did think of gold but that would be a bit too ostentatious

Forgot to do this earlier but I've added a little semaphore tower to the Peninsular range. All parts available separately so the tower can be made taller or the semaphore can be left out to have a normal tower.

A workbench view of a heavy set stone walls in a warm brown/grey. A single story ancillary building has been built up against it and also painted in various shades of grey/brown. There is a market stall on either side with various barrels and pots dotted about to give it a lived in feel.

Won’t be anything ‘official’ for a few days so let’s have a bit more Englestaadt!

The walls I have are a bit plain so adding some ancillary buildings gives them a little lift.

A verdant scene showing a sneak of the model for tomorrow at Salute. The grey blank plates on the left are for future buildings. The berm on the right surrounds the graveyard and the plate for the church can be seen on the extreme right. Brunhilda is wondering where everything has gone as she desperately needs some ale for husband who is coming back from a raid on a distant village.

Afternoon everyone 🙂 Got another Snorrastofa update on the dedicated page below. This part of the model will be at Salute tomorrow on table GM12

A full frontal (ooo-er) view of the stage. In the back is a panel with a castle wall and door painted on. Two smaller panels are forward and the the left and right of that painted with a simple landscape. Everything else is brown apart from the rather filthy canopy which started off as cream. God know what colour it is now. Sargent Portly (name tbc) is pointing at the audience (behind the camera) as they’ve started to boo him

Side view of the stage showing the raining, steps and panels. Lots of brown but there’s some grey for the paving.

Lower view of the stage hopefully showing the painted panels to better effect. The canopy has a ‘fancy’ front edge to it but it’s looking worn and weathered. Sargent Portly is still pointing even though the audience have gone home.

I’m sure I’ve got some players somewhere but the portly seargent will have to do for now lol

Ooo, difficult question as there are so many lol
Generally Pēbēo craft paints for the main (creams, tans and light greys). The main ink is GW earth either watered down or neat. Roofs are pretty much all GW paints in varying tones and drybrushing tends to be GW paints.

A scenic view of a low fantasy city. Tall, half timbered buildings are on either side with some scatter terrain in the middle. Castle walls are in the far background. Lots of tans, browns and greys for the buildings

Quick set up of some Englestaadt terrain this morning. Lots to go of course but should have enough for a game at the end of April (of which I shall post plenty of photos 😊).

No figures in this one as their varnish is drying (again lol)

A work in progress shot of a landscape sample with Brunhilda on it looking bemused as to why she’s there.

Several different flocks and grass tufts have been used to vary the tone and appearance.

An artists impression of the Snorrastofa fortified compound. Steve church on the right and the main compound on the left. Several different types of building are in the main compound including storehouses, main hall, workshops and living quarters. Bottom left there is an outdoor jacuzzi 😬

I’ve got special project underway for the Snorrastofa museum in Reykholt, Iceland.

8x4 model of a fortified viking compound in the 12th-13th century and, like the Gradara project, there's a dedicated page on the website.

Various scatter terrain on a warm grey background painted in various shades of brown. From left to right - Outhouse, for when a street gutter just doesn’t cut it. Notice board, for when the dating app isn’t working. Wagon of goods, for when Ocado refuse to deliver to your area. Horse trough, for when your horse is thirsty (what else would it be for…) and a market stall, for those much needed supplies when the bomb drops.

I’ve made a start on some Englestaadt scatter terrain.

Going to need a whole lot more… 😂

Seven rather dishevelled looking city watch on a warm grey background. Black and carmine colour scheme for the main tabards but other clothing is a mix of colours. Mix of weapons as well as they are not very well funded by the crown. 20mm bases for the win as the street in Englestaadt can be narrow 😬

One of this years personal projects is ready to start. Englestaadt!

Low fantasy with a 15th/16th century European lean

I’ve started the City Watch. Will probably add another ten or so. A mix of @crookeddice.bsky.social and Antediluvian Miniatures
