Why do you keep quote-posting me? It's annoying. It's like you're having people you debate with perform for you. Fuck off.

Capitalism only persists because it has captured the political engines of society. Without the government to enable and enforce it, capitalism would collapse or be vulnerable to worker takeover. You have to capture the political system to dismantle capitalism.

... which one of them is Fat Satan?

Trick question, I think it's both.

"What the GOP have done is engage in this act of political terrorism against the entire nation. As Virginia showed, two can play at that game."

J/k though, I support this strategy (for now). It's just being practical.

Bluesky doesn't allow enough characters to do that. Even if you cheat by using image alt-text.

Of course. Voters should choose their representatives, reps should not choose their voters. There was some progress toward getting rid of gerrymandering and also the electoral college, up until there wasn't. That's why Republicans are overturning gerrymandering laws instead of making fresh ones.

I don't see how.

Yeah and that was wrong. I think we can at least agree that the Democratic Party, as it stands, SUCKS and is a tool of corporations and the rich. The difference perhaps is what to do about that.

Autism became RECOGNIZED. Just like transgender people, who have ALWAYS EXISTED in humanity.

Science and culture only finally caught up to them in the 20th Century, kind of like the US in 1920 when we discovered that women have political thoughts and maybe should get to vote on stuff too.

Being human is such a pain sometimes πŸ˜“ but I don't know how else to be!!

Though a fair number of people on Bluesky seem to have found other answers... 🐢🐱🦊🦁 πŸ‘€

Incremental change in a leftward direction. I don't want to be a communist, I just like some of your ideas. I think we still need representative government in the US, I don't see grassroots collectivism of any kind working at scale. Otherwise you have to use the same propaganda BS as capitalism.

I agree, mostly. But I know in my own life, I was not taught to fear black people but I'm told the first time I ever saw one, I cried and screamed like crazy, and that fear lasted into early childhood. Fortunately I had a number of really good black teachers after that and it helped me chill out πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

I think you fix the toy by taking it your hands and tinkering with it, replacing broken parts, repainting if needed. Not by smashing the broken toy and buying a new one, like a fucking capitalist.

If you guys ever gain power, I expect you to gerrymander too. It would be stupid not to. Even if the concept is ethically shit.

I am, but that's not a race. And even though both my parents are "ethnic" I somehow look almost entirely like a nerdy white man. You'd have to look closely to see how my hair and skin and facial bone structure are slightly off from a typical white person. And if I have a kid with one, what are they?

Sorry, I thought you were being sarcastic!

I'm not sure either, that's why I said "seem to". But I am waiting for a sign that hasn't yet come.

At Synagogues, Tensions Are Boiling Over Disagreements about Gaza and Zionism have divided congregations.

β€˜At many Jewish institutions, rejecting #Zionism is indeed regarded as a form of sacrilege.

But more and more American Jews are having a hard time reconciling other core features of their identity with support for #Israel ’s current government.’

Fear of people with differences is natural but must be overcome. Natural does not equal good. I think more often, natural is bad, the world is actively trying to kill us humans. It's constantly evolving new pathogens. Perhaps nature has identified our species as a kind of global cancer or infection.

Yes, but all humans today are the SAME TRIBE. Many just do not realize it. We already justifiably destroyed all the subhumans squatting on our planet. They exist only as bone fragments in museum Ice Age exhibits.

Ignore them. They don't understand that this will help them in the long run, if/when they ever manage to take over the Democratic Party. They will never win nationally as a separate party. The two-party system IS rigged, but you can't change it if you don't play.

You're right, but we need a time machine to make it actionable.

There are many shitty people in every political demographic. Decide what you want more - friends, or comrades in policy.

Israel has not been necessary to be a good Jew for almost 2000 years. Like Christianity, modern Judaism as a religious culture has been more shaped by the thought, debates and historical struggles of the Middle Ages than by its ancient origins and myths.

It was already called the Persian Gulf before! Who made it the Arabian Gulf anyway?

Armed Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian school and killed two people, including a 14-year-old child, today.

When mainstream media coverage ignores vital stories like this, Israeli settlers and soldiers are emboldened to continue killing Palestinians with impunity.

I suspect this isn't new. Now I'm going to have to look back through history for similar spectacularly absurd and incompetent reigns, and figure out what they were really trying to get away with. Caligula comes to mind.
