I’m proud of our work in @Royal_Greenwich, and this investment in care is part of delivering positive change for our communities.

Yet at its heart care is about supporting people to live in their communities, with the people and things they love, doing things that bring them joy. Which is why I believe we must value its role in building and sustaining our society.

I want to take a moment to highlight the importance care as an act, care is something which sustains us all. Everyone has been cared for at some point. Yet our care services can often feel distant to many residents.

Last week, we set our budget as a council, which includes a £20m investment in adult social care to meet community demand, supporting those with disabilities, mental health needs, and those ageing in Greenwich.
