Thats oomf
Side note about the community challenge: this ended bc of a doxxing issue, from the "pro developer side". I completely disavow these actions, as have the developers themselves.
I just really feel like at a certain point, being an unceasing beacon of negativity probably does more harm to the community atmosphere, and might even dissuade people from playing the game. But maybe thats just me.
I've played a lot of Helldivers 2. I will likely play more HD2 as long as the servers run but I've played a lot more games than just HD2, and done a lot more stuff with my life. There's more out there in the world than bemoaning there isnt enough late game content in a game you've spent 4000+ hrs in
I mean this genuinely. You've spent hundreds of real world days playing this game and you are bitter, cynical. Your outlook seems to betray you don't have much fun anymore. And the thing is, you don't have to play! There are other games! This doesnt have to be your one thing!

At a certain point the talk coming from these content creators who all surely have thousands and thousands of hour in the game, who seem to never been happy with the game, who catastrophize nearly every choice the developers make, I ask the following: do you *have to keep playing?*

Its a video game I adore. I've probably put in 1000+ hours into ghe game, more than probably anyone on my steam friends list.
Malevelon Creek. The Invasion of Super Earth. Fighting Hive Lords on Oshaune. Fighting in the trenches of Cyberstan. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
I see so much of what I see amounting to wishing to get the edges smoothed off the difficulty of the game to make it easier. All the time! It just doesn't make much sense to me. I see those complaining about the monetization of the new techs, calling it a part time job. Its a video game!
Screenshot of Helldivers 2 community creator OhDough 1 hour ago "I'll add $200" Screenshot: "Arrowhead Dev Oshaune Challenge - Complete and Extract from a D10 Operation with these loadouts on stream and I will ALSO donate $1000" ( image Showing a variety of load outs off-meta gear and stratagems with specific Arrowhead studios members names above) "Every single Warbond except for the most recent two are utilized. No Booster Trio. Because they are meta. I will donated an additional $1,000"
I've often seen many wishes for buffs on low performing weapons/strat as if there aren't dozens of other options. There are those that think on the hardest difficulty, a competent diver should be able to use whatever and still win (see: the community challenge to Devs recently).

To me, it almost seems like it comes down to "the easily satisfied" and "the never satisfied". It pains me to see, because often times the second group have good intentions and points. But at a certain level, I ask, what would make you happy?
Arrowhead has since rectified this, and other complaints. There are areas where there is still more work to be done, and there are things I would like to see implemented myself (new ship modules, more camos/attachments).
But yet still, there is this rift in the community.
And for what its worth? The complainers have improved the game at times. I remember when around the time they added artillery tanks, enemies were so tanky that it required precisely anti tank shots on specific weak points to defeat heavy enemies and the game was brutal.
Throughout all that time theres been largely the same community creators as far as I can tell. For the most part, each creators individual demeanor has been consistent in the 2 or so years the game is out. Those who have gripes gripe, those who love the game love the game.
The game has gotten so much larger in terms of weapons, stratagems, cosmetics, vehicles, map types, enemies and their factions over time. A whole weapon customization system! The game was bare bones compared to where it is today. And the balance was much, much worse. With only a few viable options.
Helldivers 2 steam charts showing player count Showing a relatively bumpy chart over time. 33,276 playing an hour ago 40,689 24-hr peak 458,208 all-time peak
Ive been playing the game on and off (consistent for a long while), since release. The game has frankly flourished since that time. It has gone through highs and lows of player count in this time. Usually corresponding with in game story (HD2 has an emergent storytelling community war thing)
The complaints I see are that 1) previous mech were unlocked by way of community objectives
2) people have been asking for a suit of customizable Mech building to be implemented instead of this system.
I have some thoughts on this.
Image of new Helldivers 2 Warbond HELLDIVERS 2 PREMIUM WARBOND EXO EXPERTS There is a mech and two helldivers on the left side of the screen, laser fire is being shot at them
At risk of being defamed as "glazediver" with respect to Helldivers 2, the usual community voices who gripe are continuing to bemoan the "death of the game"
Why? Because the dev are adding new Mech content in the form of the pay* (*or grind) warbond system that has been in the game since launch
People on here will say anything. βI canβt believe the Mets lost.β Yes you can. Thatβs not true.
I checked in on the far-right forums and they are taking this Virginia redistricting very normally

played softball again today and the team I was substituting on won like 28-5 or smth :D
I scored multiple runs and got several RBIs :)
the people being genderqueer isn't overly important other than the absolute juxtaposition of them playing shitty buttrock post-grunge with lyrics like:
"MAYBE IM THE ONE,
MAYBE IM THE ONE,
WHO IS, THE
SCHIZOPHRENIC PSYCHO, YEAH"
the other day I was at my gay doctor I go to for gender stuff right, was in the lobby waiting to get the cup to pee in and a genderqueer couple came in with a dog in a baby stroller, one went to their appt or whatever, and the other played this on a JBL speaker really loud
