Showing up like this is a skill and they've done a great job at it.

Elixir CEO Retreat. You don't want to be late. I am not sure why you want to be early though..
Anyone have a good weather forecast for Malaga? I don't like the one Apple is serving me so I'm taking suggestions..

The First WORLD FENCING LEAGUE is happening April 25th!!! I'M GEEKING!!!
Japanese engineers developed this "Sword Tip Visualisation" tracking technology specifically for this event that will make it so much easier for the average person to see what's going on!
I MUST WATCH THIS ENTIRE TOURNAMENT
Seems like effort though :D
Is Kubuntu still a thing?
Been tempted to try KDE Neon since I've been on KDE for a big bunch of time now and it'd be cool to not be starting from GNOME or whatever..
Window showing OS upgrade and recovery options. OS Upgrade shows Preparing Upgrade. The progress bar is about 20% done. The button Start Upgrade is enabled. There has been no progress for more than 12 hours (not pictured).
When I say my Pop_OS! install is cursed I do mean it. I should blast it and repave at some point.
I tried to start and upgrade yesterday. Not I can apparently start it again. What I can't do is close the window..
Anyone up for climbing in Málaga during/after @elixirconf.bsky.social ? ✨

First run at these will be at the Unconference of course. I think supplies will last to the real conference but you never know:

Elixir, Phoenix, Erlang, Nerves and Ash stickers in front of and Underjord water bottle and a lovely little potted plant that some in-laws gave us. Oh, and a baggie of more stickers.
You also don't need to talk to me at #ElixirConfEU. You can just go "uh.. stickers?"
I won't mind. I bring these in case people want them. We always pack in an appropriate sticker when we sell shirts.
See you there.
A silly man being detected by an AI overlord on camera. Pink outline noting "person". As if personhood will help.
The app that does everything. In Elixir.
If you have any hesitation about seeing my talk during ElixirConf EU. Keep hesitating.
If you have any hesitation about saying hi during ElixirConf EU. Roll up you dingus. Say hi. Interrupt me even. I'm always talking.

After a long weekend my ElixirConf talk is 99.9% done which I’d round up to 100% which means that with just another hour of prep time I’m ready to give me talk
He prolific
Tempted :)
After reading the description I went "why is calendar in the list of supported things?" then I read what the calendar thing does and just started nodding my head.
Does complete in gmail mark the convo as read before archiving?
I don't use linear but I don't think I need those lists in there anyway
I think Keynote has been up to something. It is now less than 2GB. I did switch out a lot of videos and I imagine there is some lag between me replacing something and Keynote actually removing it due to things like undo, etc.
Fantastic unicorn drawn by almost 6 year old.
Tuning your presentation in Keynote is very important.
First draft of slides were >10GB. Final_V2-last-one.key is 5GB.
This is mostly due to speeding up a lot slides. Faster slides take up more space as we all know. The faster you go, the fewer frames you need.

Wait. You aren't named Hellgo Rithm? The betrayal
“the navy outsails its logistics” =
boat sit on water too long, no food
sitting at a site not stocking up isn’t really “sailing” and it’s definitely not, like, surprisingly good sailing
any one of us can sit at home and not go shopping and “outsail” our logistics
I didn't coiple it to the outages. But they did mention it was slower and more demanding. I could see product and capacity reasons to not release it and instead hold on to it for a bit and beat the hype drum and "we are very responsible and our model is dangerous" drum.
And definitely good points about not sweating it too much. These are community conferences. We want speakers of all experience levels and we want a wide array of topics. And everyone who steps up to offer something gets applause and have contributed.
I always choose to overcomplicate my talks, slides, setup, demos. But that shape of talk can definitely be done in a very simple and straightforward way as well.
But starting with "I frequently find myself doing brain surgery on GenServers." is a nice alternative to "Hello. I'm Lars Wikman and .."
Love the part about the outline. I like to start with a cold open. Beginning with a deep and involved wake-up call. Then a moment of "how did we get here". Then the rest of the talk is essentially about building back up to wherever we started but understanding it.
There is a Python API 🤷
I have not tried.
Making slides again. Recorded yesterday. Today I'm spending good time with Davinci Resolve...

Selection process for Goatmire has been brutal. Not everything is buttoned up yet but we should be able to let people know quite soon.
I am so excited for the line-up and I think we had cut an entire very solid 1-day conference in the process. oof
