Well, we don’t have failwhales anymore, so what is this?

Sure. But we're talking about new build parks.
But lets also not ignore the significant landscaping, tree management paved trails and other signficant improvements that have been made in that park since it was created. Nevermind a reversal in PB policy about the pond.
I couldn't help but notice that this one has a washroom- something that was specifically asked for kinross south park in river district and wasn't delivered.
I wonder what the difference is.
I remember someone introducing themselves as a 4th gen resident at like a ted talk knockoff, and the crowd gasped.
I’m technically fifth gen, I really don’t give a shit- how long folks have lived here is irrelevant.
Good beer ✅ lots of traffic ✅ not attached to the ground ❌ not visible from patio ❌

I’d be making 18 bucks a day just to cycle to and from work.
No seriously, I’m convinced planners have no sense of scale when it comes to distance or topography.
The argument is that a school and transit will be built eventually, but even the golden child candidates in the province take 25 years to build. Planners knew this and still said it was a good idea.
Vancouver talks big game, but constantly fails on delivery, especially since yaletown largely stopped developing.
The same planning department that decided it made total sense to build a massive housing development at the bottom of a hill on a floodplain with the closest existing elementary school a 45 minute walk away, and a 80 minute commute by transit to the downtown core.
That one?
Oh typical Twitter chuds claiming victory that the current batch of Star trek shows have been cancelled because they’re woke, and saying that enterprise was so good, even though it was woke at the time too.
Japanese carpenters are just on another level. Those tools! youtu.be/VZ_g5xPjcrM?...
The whiplash about everyone wanting more enterprise when it was up until very recently hated by Star Trek fans is wild.
Seems like a legislative error and it's embarrassing for the province to admit it at this point and because we're now here and banks have clearly indicated to the province that it's an issue even if they're not outright saying it, anything they do will look like walking back on indigenous issues.
Given that literally all the nations (and the province) involved in these claims have said they were never interested in privately owned fee simple land, it says to me that the judges are interpreting DRIPA differently than what was intended by the legislature.
I kinda love how many cities are fighting over hypothetical expansions.
mine just kicked the bucket, but it was under warranty.
And made them far more dangerous for everyone else on the road.
But for real, I’m turning the back into a cheeky weekend road trip camper, and otherwise daily winter driver and furniture mover.
I can’t wait to get teased, but I’ll be able to put a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back. F-150 dudebros will only be able to cry more.
I'm so excited for the Hiace I'm importing
I think I need to clean my skylight.
Peak content here.
And also, Rowling has total creative control over any adaptations of her work, and makes money off of every movie stream, book purchase or theme park ticket still.
That's the big difference.
If cars don't have to follow laws, why do e-bikes?
And for those of you say cars do have to follow laws, I invite you to review the "discourse" on traffic cameras and speed limiters. Or simply talk to a bike commuter.
It is no coincidence that the car lobby is doing everything it can to stop high speed rail right now as gas prices soar.
NPR has noticed Vancouver, but more specifically @squamishnatcouncil.bsky.social

Oh yeah, now I see it.
Wait, do trefoils the girl scout cookie, not have a trefoil imprinted on them?
Yeah, It was mostly in jest, but at a certain point it gets dangerous
My complaint today is cyclists on the bike route on iron workers. Riding abreast and not yielding to faster cyclists.
Scooters are typically going much faster than even e-bikes these days.
Cyclists are the worst at situational awareness.
Particularly on dedicated separated bike routes.
