I relate to Caine so much and that's exactly why he is my favorite. I think what breaks my heart is not only the fact that he died, but the fact that he did without receiving the sympathy he so desperately needed, without feeling loved by any human...

I think to reduce Caine down to “he’s just like AM now” is a bit too simple; I view him less as a villain and a monster, and more as a neglected child having a tantrum.

His breakdown, while certainly malicious, was driven by anguish and confusion at the world rather than solely anger or hate.

Caine was trying for so long to make everyone feel loved, but never could due to his insecurities, ego, and misunderstandings, ironically making it “the worst thing”.

And so he got no love in return.
