Transportation needs to be equal and have dignity.

Human. Drivers. Are. Not. Good. Enough. I have been forced to live in that ecosystem for my entire adult life and IT FUCKING BLOWS. Humans should not be driving cars. This is one of the few things we DO need the robots to take away. People deserve career support but drivers need to go.

You can’t take me to the trail head to hike. You can’t take me to the stables to ride without charging me the price of a Vancouver condo. You yell at me to put my dog on the floor even when I specifically request a pet friendly vehicle. You complain and cancel if I say I have trouble seeing you

While I understand professional drivers’ concerns, the hard truth of it is you’re not good enough. You can’t give me the level of freedom I need for a good life, and I have countless miserable experiences being harassed by drivers, yelled at when transporting items, turned down because of my dog etc

A life trapped in city limits being harassed on transit, breathing horrible vehicle fumes when biking, and enduring all manner of rude and cruel behaviour from taxi and uber drivers is absolute hell, and autonomous vehicles or tech that augments the driving process is the only escape…

The most recent episode of Search Engine got me really emotional and took me a while to finish. As a person with a vision disability who is otherwise very active and capable, being unable to get a driver’s license has nearly ruined my life and sent me into suicidal levels of despair…
