Also building off of this for the actual show I headcannon that Fiddleford purposefully targeted people who were struggling with problems that caused them to be outcasted or looked down upon, telling them if they joined his cult he’d be able to fix him and gaslighting himself into believing that too
Call me insane, but I headcanon that if fiddauthor was canon, it would be one sided. Not only that, but Ford would purposely lead on Fiddleford knowing he liked him because he is too valuable to not have work on the portal, and even though ford feels immense guilt from this, he continues to anyways.
