Welcome, ORCA38! 🎉
After 4 days of flawless operations at sea, the ORCA detector just got a major upgrade: 5 new detection units installed in the deep sea, bringing the total to 38. A huge thank you to everyone involved, offshore crews and onshore teams, for making this great step forward possible!
Today on #worldcreativityandinnovationday2026 we celebrate our #innovative optical module, our #creative anchoring method in the deep Mediterranean Sea and the #beauty of neutrino detection with KM3NeT.
🎶Enjoy this piano recital by KM3NeT scientists.

Happy World Quantum Day!
Today, we dive into the fascinating world of neutrinos.
At the ORCA detector of KM3NeT, deep beneath the Mediterranean Sea, we investigate the quantum phenomenon of neutrino oscillations, where neutrinos change flavor as they travel.

The first KM3NeT Masterclass was a great success! Last week, high-school students across Europe stepped into the world of neutrino research, taking part in hands-on data analysis, exploring real event displays, and searching for cosmic neutrino sources. More info: www.km3net.org/great-succes...
Great to see #KM3NeT presence at the Rencontres de #Moriond2026 – Very High Energy Phenomena in the Universe! We presented our latest results, highlighting the growing capabilities of KM3NeT.
👏 Congrats to everyone involved in the analyses and presentations!

From mechanics and electronics to software and systems engineering, KM3NeT is a powerful example of how engineering enables cutting-edge science and opens new windows on the Universe 🌌 👏 A big thank-you to all engineers pushing the boundaries of knowledge and technology!
#EngineersWeek2026
In KM3NeT, engineering turns theoretical ideas into functioning technology: deploying optical sensors deep in the sea, designing hardware that survives extreme pressure and marine conditions & building ultra-precise timing, data acquisition, and computing systems to detect cosmic neutrinos.
🎉 Happy Engineers Week 2026! 🚀

During the meeting, the winners of the Giorgos Androulakis Prize were announced, recognising extraordinary dedication to the KM3NeT project:
🏅 Early Career Scientists: Alfonso Garcia Soto & Lizeth Morales Gallegos
🏅 Technicians & Engineers: Irene Sgura & Alexander Enzenhöfer
We were also delighted to welcome two new observer institutes: Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the University of Turku.
We met last week in the historic heart of Valencia for the first Collaboration Meeting of 2026.
Researchers came together to discuss the latest results from the ARCA and ORCA detectors, plan upcoming sea campaigns, and share progress on different analyses.
The #EU funded #KM3NeT INFRADEV2 project came to an end on 31 December 2025.
During three years it provided strong support towards the full implementation of the KM3NeT Research Infrastructure.
