America is "at war" in a very privileged kind of way right now, and can't really conceive of it being any other way.

To be clear, neither my birth country or adopted country is currently being bombed, but should either of them end up at war, they'd be fucking bombed.

There is an inherent weirdness hearing Americans talk about being "at war" in podcasts and news and such, even cool anti-war people with politics I agree with. There is a world of difference in sending soldiers somewhere far away to fight, and having bombs fall on your own cities.

What is it with conservatives and animal cruelty, seriously
