Bill Gates, climate change isn't an existential threat to civilization... meanwhile reality wants a word.

What more is there to say at this point?
SCOOP: I got a copy of the Calgary police chief’s hand-written notes from May 9 and 10, which show that he discussed the dismantling of a 🇵🇸 encampment at UofC with three Cabinet ministers and the premier’s chief of staff.

Great article discussing the many, many reasons why masking remains crucial
Again, two of my friends were concussed and a student’s mom had her ribs broken by police when they attacked the students who had *already* started taking the encampment down after 12 hrs. This is wholly rotten
wolf840 said: Does anyone else remember when Elon was like "if anyone knows how to end world hunger for 6 billion USD, I'll fund it" and UNICEF was like "we're going to spend a month to make a plan to end world hunger for 6 billion USD and Elon is going to fund it" and Elon was like "actually, nah" and then bought Twitter instead? I think that was one of the worst things I'll ever see in my life. tiredspacedragon replied: I still think that should be the thing for which he's the most famous. It should be brought up every time he's mentioned. In any news article, any interview, any history book. "Elon Musk, who was offered a chance to end world hunger and turned it down." Put it on his fucking gravestone.
“put it on his fucking gravestone”
There's a lot more where that came from! Stay tuned
This is 100% the next step for a society that has collapsed any semblance of a social safety net and has broken down regulations, public health and any other measures that would lessen epigenetic contributors to disability. Sicken and debilitate people, then call them useless eaters and eliminate
I see a lot of Canadians flocking to patriotism at this moment due to Trump’s threats. This is also a good moment to question what is Canada? What defines us? What is our future?
To me this is a moment to reflect on Canada’s history as a project of colonization and imagine a new way forward
Existing in a time where people who mask and take other precautions against airborne viruses are crazy and people who get sick over and over and over again are normal is the most monumentally shitty failure of public health and I hate it.
90% has happened in my grandma’s lifetime. She’s still alive. We changed the world in a human lifetime and we could do it again, but in a way that gives our kids a future.
Well that’s fucking alarming.
Not surprising per se, but alarming.
Expect more!
It's just beginning, is the feeling I get.
sort of funny that the Wexit people have shown themselves to be so badly prepared for exactly the opportunity presenting itself right now
What crime did the person commit that merits detention?
Related: it’s been three weeks since Elon Musk vigorously saluted his fellow Nazis at the inauguration
In preparation for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police forced over 100 homeless men and women onto buses under threat of arrest, dumping them in an unheated warehouse. Tents destroyed, belongings lost. Press are barred from the warehouse.
The price tag for this cruelty? $17.5 million
Pfizer’s cancer drug commercial was beautiful, but their breast cancer drug Ibrance costs $10k per month and their prostate cancer drug Xtandi costs $22k per month.
Beautiful commercials don’t change the fact that 42% of cancer patients exhaust their life savings in 2 years.
Israeli police have arrested two Palestinian booksellers for selling books about Palestine in Jerusalem
You know who else did this kind of thing?
starting to believe that the people who campaigned to usher in a millennia of white supremacist fascist oligarchy were not as committed to the principle of free speech as the media had led voters to believe
Just in case you weren't sure — hospitalization for measles (or other infectious diseases) is serious. Not everyone spends a couple of days there, then goes home to a normal life. Some are disabled. Some die.
Doctors aren't lying to you. Get your shots.

Thank god you stopped
I just helped revive someone in downtown Calgary. I saw people walking by a man lying flat on his back so I went to check and sure enough he wasn’t breathing so I started to shake him and his friend returned we took turns pumping his chest until he started breathing. My point is don’t just walk by.
Tl;dr:
AHS CEO did her job to ensure that AHS was awarding contracts appropriately, discovered that the AB govt was likely giving contracts to their hockey box friends with the fake Tylenol and they fired her to keep it quiet.

I’m sad to learn that my law school classmate, Kiah Duggins, died in the DC plane crash last night.
Kiah was an exceptionally talented civil rights lawyer and aspiring legal scholar.
I hope you’ll read about her work and the causes she cared about, some of which I’ll 🧵 below.
What an immense loss

Never Forget Hind.
The sheer evil of these people
