I saw End of Days when it came out, thought it was ok, and never cared to watch it again, until this 4K release from Shout Factory. It’s a mid Arnie film but still quite enjoyable, some nice gore and some not bad 90’s CG.

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy has left me conflicted. On one hand I liked the film, on the other, I think it was a wasted opportunity. Solid cast, good acting, some nice brutal scenes and looks really good, but overlong and a bit formulaic.

Lovely artwork on the Scream Factory 4K Steelbook of the Classic 80’s horror film The Blob. This remake is so much fun, from the beginning to the end, with some fantastic practical effects. Oh yeah, and the lovely Shawnee Smith.

I got tired of waiting for a UK/US 4K release of Hellraiser 2022, so I picked up this 4K steelbook German release from Turbine Films. I really enjoyed this film, I think this reboot is in my top 3, from the franchise.

I know I’m probably in the minority, but the more I’ve seen Army of Darkness, over the years, the more I dislike it. What I really have an issue with, is all the slapstick comedy. AoD does have some great stop motion and miniature work.

I’ve seen a few films by English director Ben Wheatley, but Kill List is probably my favorite. The film has a gut punch of an ending, and then lets you just sit there, with it. Great looking. 4K release from Severin Films.

Turkish horror, Baskin is a modern day grindhouse movie. Dirty, grimy, violent and gory, with a bad nightmare feel to it. This 4K release from Severin Films looks fantastic, especially since it’s set at night.

Haven’t seen Salem’s Lot, in 20 years, so it’s like a first time watch. With this 4K release from Arrow it still holds up fantastically well. Legendary director, brilliant cast, slow burn and a very creepy atmospheric.

I loved They Will Kill You, it’s fun, violent, bloody and gory, my kind of movie. I’ve liked Zazie Beetz in other films, but she was fantastic in the lead role and the rest of the cast was really good too. Buying the 4K release.

Ready Or Not 2 picks up right after the first film, and then goes bigger. A great cast, who all look like they’re having a good time, plus the chemistry between Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton was fun. Also plenty of blood and gore.

Great review. For me, when I was like 5 or 6 Bela Lugosi’s Dracula scared the shit out of me. He was a monster/vampire but looked just like a normal person and that freaked me out. You’re right, even with all the comedy in this, Bela still has that menacing mystique.

After watching The Strangers Chapter 3, I realised that this trilogy, was a pointless exercise in filmmaking. We got 3 of these movies but we may not get a third 28 Years Later. Don’t think I need to ever watch them again 😂

Unfortunately, The Bride! Is going to be a major flop but is it that bad? Not really. It is a bit messy, but there are some really good things about it too. Film looks great, with a very good cast but Jessie Buckley is the real star.

The Blackcoat’s Daughter is probably my favorite Osgood Perkins film and it makes a great double feature with Longlegs. Had to buy a German blu ray as no Uk release. This movie deserves a nice 4K Limited Edition from a boutique label🤞

The Housemaid was a blind watch. It doesn’t do anything new but it’s a pretty entertaining movie. Amanda Seyfried is great and had the standout performance, it’s weird that I’ve never seen her in anything before.

Bela Lugosi as Dracula, scared the shit out of me as a kid, so the story is very special to me. Did we need another remake again? No, but Luc Besson’s Dracula is a decent watch, with the brilliant Christoph Waltz stealing the show.
