Apple announces new CEO, deliberately slows down old one
Watchdogs say the previous CEO model suspiciously started slowing down immediately after the announcement

#nzpol had orange man first, and Aotearoa's orange man is cool and just wants you to register to vote
Orange man (NZ blobby election mascot not the other thing) doing finger guns
Justice for orange man
Orange man in the correct context (NZ politics) is actually great, we love orange man

They need to split it into I don't have a favorite dinosaur (eh) and don't have a favorite dinosaur (I can't choose I love them all)
Hehehe good spots for birding become Saur Spots
Secretary Saur sounds like a show I'd watch
I guess the one benefit of GenAi being useless trash is that this sort of situation is a comedy of errors instead of a horror
When I visited my family in Auckland (from Welly) there was an intense straight down rainfall and I was hit with such a wave of nostalgia cause I had forgotten rain like that. Can't beat Auckland on a bad day imo
Is there any topic you have an average awareness of tho 😇 you're also coffee georg and band anime Georg and procedural Georg and necromancy georg and
To clarify to my knowledge the two events were unrelated.
Would you instead like a cleanser fact: Aotearoa NZ had a native quail that went extinct (not the fun part) but currently ecologists apparently think that the California quail that was introduced basically just took over their niche so it's a win win for the cali quail in NZ
Oh is Balthazar famous in Welly? One of my co workers kept seeing him at his thing but I didn't realise he was a celebrity 🤣
Or a kārearea. I'm basically going with the two things I've seen eat pigeons. Although pigeons are probably less fighty
Black backed gull? There's always a bigger gull
Did you ... Live at point Nemo or something?
I Work Very Hard, And I Would Like To Try Cake By A Horse Hello. I am a horse. I work very hard at my job of being a horse. When humans say move the heavy thing, I move the heavy thing. When humans sit on top of me and pull on my head, I carry them where they want to go. The main food the humans give me is hay and oats. But I am thinking it would be nice to have a different food. I am thinking I would like to try cake. Yes, yes. Cake. I know all about it. When humans eat cake, it is in glad times. It is the food for a celebration, such as when a woman becomes 47. I have seen cake on the Fourth of July. When humans have a cake, they stand around it and clap hands and smile and say happy birthday at each other. Sometimes there are beautiful markings on a cake, such as balloons or a pink shape. Sometimes the top of a cake is on fire and a boy must blow on the fire with mouth wind. This is the scariest cake. I do not want this kind. But I will eat any other cake. Any cake that is not the fire cake that tries to kill the boy. Please understand: I do not get money for doing work. I do not get to go inside the house. All I am either doing my horse job or standing in my pen or eating food off the floor. I always do these things. But I have never once gotten cake and I would like it very much. I have noticed that human children get to eat cake. But I am bigger than the children. I am more helpful to the farm. Children do not move the heavy things like me or let anyone ride on them. And yet they get cake. Maybe the humans will realize this. Maybe they will say, "You know who deserves cake? That horse. That horse whose back we are always on." Every day I dream about what it will be like if I get to eat cake. Here is what will happen. First, I will walk to the cake and putt my nose at it like hrrfff to make and stomping my hooves to make sure it is not a snake. Then I will trot in a circle to show that I am a horse and I am large. After that, I will nuzzle the cake to …
The horse op-ed is an instant classic. I can't tell you how much joy this piece gives me.
It should be taught in every introductory writing class in no small part because the horse arguments are so compelling. "I have noticed that human children get to eat cake. But I am bigger than the children."
Congratulations on being kayak years old
We all have our burdens to bear. For some of us the burden is balancing having a professional job and being inherently silly. You can't just stop your brain figuring out new silly things to do because the topic is transport regulations
Screencap from a news site (rnz) under the sport heading But blue screen saying VAR in white Headline is "over 75% of fans do not support VAR in the premium league" That's the joke but I kept in enough of the article in case you like me didn't know what VAR is in sport (video assisted referees)
Me trying to bond with sports fans
"wow yea, VAR sucks, didn't he burn down all those churches in Norway?"
Have you ever seen a baby weka? It was adorable to stumble across this little guy last weekend on Kāpiti Island - he held up not just us but a whole school group while lounging in the sun.

Not saying that people using AI slop for less common images are exonerated BUT it seems extra ridiculous to use AI images when it's something as global and prominent as a fuel crisis, there's no way you couldn't find real images to legally use with the most minor amount of digging

Before anyone thinks I am putting the cart before the horse, no, Westminster parliamentary setup clearly follows the historic institution of taskmaster
Important parliament question. Is the speaker and the clerk at the table basically the political version of the taskmaster combo of Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne?
They even basically have a big throne and a little throne.
