We had an amazing new beginning for the series in Scream 5, with the cast introduced being not only as likable and charismatic as the OGs, but also the actors playing them were really damn good. Such a shame we ended up with this mediocre, half-hearted stinker instead.

So Scream 7 is desperately trying to pull the "back to the core of a franchise" gimmick. The thing is, in this specific case there was absolutely no need for that.
