I think I'm just rage baiting myself at this point. I think a lot of it on the JP side might be the usual schizophrenic delusions about "political correctness" making characters ugly.

I keep seeing ppl on the JP side complain that Ingrid isn't a "lolibaba" because she already has the face of an "old hag", and I just don't know what the hell they're seeing...

If anything, the problem is that they gave her too much of an adult baby face. I feel like I'm going crazy.

Yea.. I guess in my head all the characters have weird monster faces. This one doesn't really seem to stand out as specially ugly. Regardless of the execution, I do generally like the direction they took the character and would have liked to see it in a more stylized game.

Also, about Ingrid's face. I think that they intentionally made her do the sanpaku eye face because they wanted to make her look strange and alien. I think she looks like a normal cute girl once she lets lets her eyes relax and gets friendly with the player.

I guess I get what you mean, but the problem is that the rigs deform in a super awkward ways while in movement. It's also not just the face, but the proportions of the entire body.

TBF the characters have had grotesque body proportions since SF4, but its just way more egregious in this style.

I just gotta forcibly cram my tastes into other ppls throat.
