An image of **Markarian’s Chain**, a string of galaxies in the Virgo Cluster, set against a deep black cosmic background. Several prominent elliptical and spiral galaxies appear as bright, glowing smudges of light, with the most notable being a pair of interacting galaxies known as "The Eyes" near the center. The field is densely populated with smaller, distant stars and faint galactic clusters. In the bottom right corner, a small telescope icon and the text "PARAMOUNT OBSERVATORY" are visible.

So have added another night of data to produce this updated image, seem to have lost the colours from the Galaxies, will do another version, see if I can get a better final image.

A collection of galaxies across a starry sky

A collection of galaxies across a starry sky

Following from last night πŸ” session, this is a stack of the best 92 subs. The seeing was not great and I have struggled pulling out the galaxies in the image of #Marketianschain

Also big thanks for the likes & reposts πŸ™

Plan is running now until 14/04/26 04:06 GMT.

#Markerianschain is made up of so many galaxies. This is going to take a lot of subs to pull out the detail πŸ”

πŸ” Setup and waiting to start imaging once it's dark enough, another 30 mins should do.

Tonight I'm targeting Markerians Chain.

Why don't #NASA recover the #ArtemisII capsule like #SpaceX does, it seems tricky bobbing about like it is currently?

What an amazing 10 days of #Space πŸ” & #Science this has been, from the Amazingly energetic launch to the stunning new images of the dark side of the #Moon this has been so inspirational.....even my 5 year old granddaughter telling me she wants to be an Astronaut. Safe landing and thanks #ArtemisII

A wide-field deep space photograph of the Leo Triplet (M65, M66, and NGC 3628) against a dark, star-speckled background. To the left, two spiral galaxies are tilted at angles; to the right, the Hamburger Galaxy is seen perfectly edge-on with a prominent dark dust lane running through its center.

My latest πŸ” image captured over the night of 7 & 8th of April is the Leo Triplet a small group of three interacting spiral galaxies that provide one of the most stunning "all-in-one" views in the night sky.

NASA Artemis 2 astronauts to make historic moon flyby today. Here's what to expect hour by hour (timeline) Four Artemis 2 astronauts will spend seven hours flying by the moon today (April 6), seeing lunar sights never before seen by human eyes.

Just a reminder for the UK, The #ArtemisII mission will start its exercise of travelling the dark side of the #Moon today at 17:30 GMT πŸ”

A wide-field astrophotography shot of the Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6946) against a dark, star-speckled background. The galaxy is a face-on intermediate spiral, showing a bright, warm yellowish core surrounded by intricate, sweeping spiral arms. These arms are accented with subtle blue tones from young star clusters and vibrant pinkish-red patches indicating H II star-forming regions. The entire galaxy has a soft, ethereal glow, and the surrounding black space is dotted with numerous sharp, distant stars of varying brightness. A small white logo for Paramount Observatory is visible in the bottom right corner.

Whilst cloudy skies are still persisting here, spend a bit more time working on older data. This is my image of C12 the fireworks galaxy from August 2025. I do like this Galaxy with all it's star forming areas in it's spiral arms πŸ”

Re-processing more πŸ” older data, this time C11 the Bubble Nebula, using the newer python tools in #Siril and getting some nice clean images. However, not happy with the bright star, couldn't figure out how to improve it?

At first I thought it had been able to extract and sharpen the details, but apparently not 😞 I've included the originals of each image for comparison.
