This is my latest photo of the Andromeda Galaxy using the #Askar FMA135 telescope with a #ZWO ASI 585MC camera. Filter used was the #optolong L-Quad Enhance from Bortle 8 skies. This was 24 hours and shows that even in light pollution you image!

One Shot Color image of the andromeda galaxy
Progress update on the M31 project. This is 8 hours of one shot color with the FMA 135 and ASI 585MC. For a small scope with a filter and light polluted skies, this is coming along nicely!

Astronomy photo of the Veil Nebula at a focal length of 135mm.
So I started a new #astrophotography project, the Veil Nebula! It's late in the season to start this, but the difference is that I now have a filter drawer on my Askar FMA 135. This was only 3 hours of data in heavy light pollution. The #Optolong L-Quad Enhance filter is putting in work! #astronomy
Wispy clouds of ionized hydrogen gas glow red against the starry background of space. Covering a region more than ten times the area of the full moon, it's too dim to see with the naked eye, but this stack of about 130 x 120s exposures starts to bring out some of the details.
NGC 7000, also known as the North American Nebula. #Astrophotography by me using my #SVBONY SV503 102mm/f7 scope, 0.8X FF/FR, #PegasusAstro Focus Cube, #Optolong L-eNhance filter, #ZWO OAG with #ASI290MM Mini, #SkyWatcher EQ6R Pro, and #ASI2600MC Pro cam. #Siril and #GIMP for processing. 🌌🔭🦛

Tonight I am adding Ha using the #optolong #LeXtreme filter. My #ZWO camera is doing just fine with it!

This image is a stunning capture of the Sadr region in the constellation Cygnus, processed using the HOO palette (typically Hydrogen-alpha and Oxygen-III narrowband filters). The red and orange glow dominates much of the image, coming from the ionized hydrogen gas (Hα emissions), while subtle blue or teal hues would come from oxygen emissions (OIII). A rich mosaic of the Sadr region in the Cygnus constellation, featuring vibrant red nebulosity from ionized hydrogen gas and pockets of darker cosmic dust lanes interspersed throughout. The image captures the chaotic, glowing structure of the diffuse nebula, with countless stars scattered across the scene. Some areas show bright regions of high energy near star-forming zones. Processed using the HOO palette, the red regions dominate due to hydrogen-alpha emissions, while faint blue or teal regions mark oxygen emission zones. The Sadr star (Gamma Cygni) is a prominent feature within the center-left of the nebula. Notable Objects of interest include: Sadr (Gamma Cygni) - The bright star near the core of the image. It anchors the Sadr region of the Cygnus constellation. IC 1318 (The Butterfly Nebula) - Surrounding Sadr, IC 1318 is a complex emission nebula split by dark dust lanes, forming the "butterfly" structure. NGC 6910 - An open star cluster located near Sadr. Densely packed Milky Way star field - The image is part of the Milky Way's plane, contributing to the abundance of stars and nebulae. Dark nebula filaments - These structures weave through the bright nebula, creating striking contrasts. This region is a spectacular target for astrophotographers and astronomers due to its complex mix of gas clouds, star-forming regions, and vibrant emission structures.
Heres the assembled mosaic from tonight's stream. I'm not a fan of what compression has done to this, but you get the idea! Thanks to those that dropped by tonight. I hope you learned something new!

This is an astrophotograph of the Flaming Star Nebula (IC 405), processed using the Hydrogen-Oxygen-Oxygen (HOO) palette, which emphasizes the glowing emissions of ionized hydrogen (Hα) and doubly ionized oxygen ([OIII]) within the nebula. The scene is dominated by intense red and crimson hues originating from ionized hydrogen, which forms the expansive, filament-like clouds. These structures weave through the canvas, resembling tendrils of flame or wisps of smoke drifting across the starscape. At the center of the nebula lies the blue-tinged core, created by [OIII] emissions. This region highlights areas where ultraviolet radiation from the runaway star AE Aurigae excites oxygen atoms, giving them a cool, ethereal glow. The contrast between the bluish core and the surrounding deep reds makes the nebula appear as if it’s radiating heat from a central source. The outer regions are richly detailed, with long, flowing, and delicate filaments of red hydrogen gas stretching outward like fiery streamers. Embedded within this glowing expanse are clusters of stars and dark patches of interstellar dust, adding depth and texture to the scene. The stars scattered throughout the nebula provide a sparkling backdrop, while the dynamic interplay between the gases creates a sense of cosmic turbulence. To the top right, a secondary, bright bluish patch emerges, indicating another region of active oxygen emissions interacting with the hydrogen-dominated field. The interplay of reds, blues, and the darkness of space evokes the impression of a celestial inferno frozen in time, where massive forces sculpt the fabric of the nebula. Overall, the HOO processing technique amplifies the dramatic contrast between hydrogen’s warm tones and oxygen’s cooler shades, bringing to life the complex dynamics of this star-forming region in stunning, surreal detail.
One of my favorite deep sky targets for tonight's post. Flaming Star Nebula (IC405)! 15 hours of trapped photons from the backyard. This light traveled 1500 years to arrive here in West Yorkshire. 😲 #astrophotography #zwo #optolong #dso #fyp #space #astronomy

A deep space photograph take by me of a region of Cygnus. Pictured in the image are the Butterfly nebula (bottom center left), the bright star Sadr (bottom center left), the Crescent nebula (center right), the Soap bubble nebula (tiny blue bubble below Crescent) WR134 (right of Crescent) and the Tulip nebula (top right). The image was captured using a filter that captures 2 wavelengths of light in bright reds and cyan colors.
Cloudy UK skies with no end in sight means reprocessing old data. This is a 4 panel mosaic I redid today with some updated techniques. This is 40hours from the Sadr region in Cygnus. The Cygnus Loop aka Veil nebula. This image contains HA (red) and OIII (cyan) gases. The filaments are the remnant of a supernova that occurred 5-8k years ago. It's approximately 1500LR away and it spans a distance of 120LR in diameter. It's estimated that the bow shock front of the explosion is moving between 60-150km/s.
Dusty. Might as well post this here for now. I ran out of time this year to finish collecting light on my Cygnus Loop project. Capping out at just short of 20 hours. Next year I'll double it and add some broadband data. #astrophotography #astronomy #dso #askar #optolong #zwo
The Cygnus Loop. A supernova remnant captured with a dual narrowband filter. The filaments are red (hydrogen alpha) and cyan (oiii/doubly ionized oxygen) in color which are super heated gases left behind from the explosion.
WIP. This is the Cygnus Loop. In space terms it's a fairly young object estimated to be around 8000 years old. The object is roughly 120 LR across and 2600 LR away. So far I've collected 17 hours of light with an Askar FRA300, 2600mc pro, and an EQ3 pro mount. #astronomy #zwo #askar #optolong #space

The Ghosts of Cassiopeia 👻
The main nebulosity in the picture is colloquially known as the Ghost Nebula, but in my opinion the surrounding dust area is a whole ghost town.
