There is a bit of an issue with speed. And so I think our friend Hesidueye is to be allocated the choice scarf. Not too bad, just outspeeds Sneasler and can threaten an OHKO with Brave Bird. Just don’t activate a White Herb, or a Focus Sash!

I literally *just* checked my own and I was able to get one off of GTS. But low key it’s a rare mon so I’ll definitely take another one!
I don’t even have Hisuian Decidueye LOL oof!

Whenever I’m team building now for Regulation M-A, I literally just look at this list 😆
Serebii Update: The first part of Pokémon All Stars 1025 by Masayoshi Oishi is to be released shortly, at 13:25 UTC

Happy Earth Day! 🌎
The very specific reason I feel this ought to be a Gardevoir Mega instead of a Pokemon like Floette is for two reasons:
1) Gardevoir has a somewhat favored matchup into Floette. Which is meaningful, considering our Floette matchup isn’t great.
2) Enables either Calm Mind or Trick Room strategies.
So what I’m thinking is… pair Incineroar with two Pokemon that address a lot of Incineroar’s struggles. Hisuian Decidueye, to pressure Competitive / Defiant Pokemon, and then why not add a Milotic to abuse the same thing? They will be supporting Garchomp + Gardevoir.

PapaSea wanted to make a Hisuian Decidueye team. Is it possible? Well, let’s see… (looks at my Regulation M-A tier list).
So it turns out an offensive Grass type is pretty good. As a Grass / Fighting type, Decidueye hits Pokemon like Milotic, Kingambit, and Basculegion.
Know why thats important?
I think the combination of Palafin Incineroar Sinistcha Floette was already pretty well thought out. It was definitely something I considered early in Pokemon Champions.
In general, having Jet Punch spam after significant burst damage with Fairy Aura… I think it can work, but it has to be vetted.
I decided to choose Aerodactyl, as I feel that Palafin’s best A+ Tier partners are either Aerodactyl or Tyranitar.
Palafin is bad vs Sun. And Basculegion is better than Palafin next to Pelipper.
I did try Tyranitar with Palafin, but there’s a bit of speed anti-synergy there, so Aerodactyl works.
Can Palafin work in Regulation M-A? Potentially as clean-up crew and switching partner with Floette Eternal.
It seems like a bit of a tall ask. However, per the philosophy of Regulation M-A, any Pokemon that share partners with A+ tier and up can work together 🥸

My initial step was literally just building the Starmie. Max HP, the right speed stat, and offense. And then I worked out the proper offensive coverage with Fighting + Poison / Dragon, added Farigiraf Kingambit and wanted Electroweb. And then I realized Farigiraf can simply just be Whimsicott.
After watching a Mega Starmie video, I was convinced that Starmie needed to be Max HP.
I originally figured I could run the build in a TailRoom style team, but:
1) I’m getting tired of TailRoom, and
2) TailRoom isn’t needed here.
And so, multiple forms of speed control with solid speed tiering.
I wouldn’t want it specifically to be a Fake Out deterrent… I just think that it makes sense for what the item is, in a sense. I’m not a huge fan of Covert Cloak. But in the case of Mental Herb Mimikyu for example, it would be a more consistent / viable way to set Trick Room vs Rock Slide spam.
It’s kind of hard to say if the balancing of this would make sense or not, but Mental Herb should deny one round of flinch. I think that could be somewhat easy to exploit in some situations, but I think it would be interesting.
Roughly ten Megas. Roughly half physical / special attackers. Good peppering of lead offense and support options.
From my perspective, Regulation M-A would seem like a fairly balanced meta. However, the truth is that this format is pretty top-heavy. That said, it leaves some room for exploration.
While this would seem pretty obvious to most VGC players, this is eloquently put for people who may be new to the game.

Honorable mentions:
Primarina, Dragonite, Mega Starmie, Mega Blastoise, Kommo-o, Mega Scovillain, Mega Aggron, Mega Glimmora.
Note — if there is a Pokémon that is highly associated with anything in the A+ tier, like Mega Golurk or Venusaur, I have chosen to not include it on this list.
*A-Tier* These will be on many teams!
Kingambit, Floette Eternal, Talonflame, Milotic, Whimsicott.
*B-Tier* Top meta threats!
Corviknight, Mega Froslass, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Delphox, Mega Gengar.
*C-Tier* Strong contenders!
Aegislash, Rotom Wash, Mega Kangaskhan, Maushold, Mega Scizor.
*S-tier* Expect these in every matchup, at least two of each in every team:
Incineroar, Sneasler, Basculegion, Garchomp, Sinistcha.
*A+ Tier* Meta-defining Pokemon. Study their common partners!
Aerodactyl, Charizard, Tyranitar, Pelipper, Farigiraf.
Pokémon Champions, Regulation Set M-A tier list, by me. More details in the Bluesky thread associated with this image, including honorable mentions.
Good morning, Pokemon Champions!
There are three major tournaments coming up — Grand Champion’s Festival, Global Challenge 1, and Indianapolis Regionals.
And so, I’ve created a unique tier list of Pokemon that you ought to expect and study for if you are planning to play in any of these events.
I was very passionate about the Charizard X team, seeing how inherently strong it was, even though I didn’t have a lot of faith in the idea from the start. Unfortunately I’ve already began pivoting in a new direction, and I have to vet all the other matchups with Passho Incineroar. But maybe?
The only reason I was against the idea is because Incineroar is very essential in the Sand matchup as well, and it’s not very likely that the Passho Berry would see any use in those matchups. But Charizard is strong in Sun, and Corviknight is good vs Sand and other games. I don’t know. My head hurt.
