We were at sea once when a tsunami warning was issued. We were in very deep water so we stayed the course. Thinking about our friends in the South Pacific today

I didn't have the guts to make fresh clams for a long time...then I realized how easy it was and how delicious they are. Next, I want to try grilling them!
I’ve purchased 20 pair of knee pads in my cruising life…

On a sailing charter in Alaska.
Boat owner was captain and cook. First "cruiser" we (Carolyn and Dave) ever met . . . and got us thinking about the idea of cruising.
If John could do this, why couldn't we?
Decades later we can ask you, "If Dave and I could do this, why couldn't you?"

Beautiful!
Been there, done that. Making that transition is one of the hardest parts about cruising.
Omg 😬
Love the stains! My copy of The Boat Galley Cookbook has so many stains from when the boat rolled while I was cooking. Well-loved recipes, well-loved cookbook!
Wild horses?? So cool!
ugh! I hate dodging cargo ships. At least you have a beautiful day to do it and great visibility!
Gorgeous!
I also like to practice knots and make things with rope. DH likes to look at the weather forecast 20x/hr all day long 🤪
Cheers to an amazing accomplishment!
WOOOHOOO!! Congratulations!! No better day. Enjoy your time in #FrenchPolynesia
FYI: If you want to track Calypso as they sail into port, you can do so here: share.garmin.com/svcalypso (NOTE: apparently this is not working if you’re looking on a laptop. It’s fine on a phone! It’s a Garmin issue, not an “our tracker” issue)
Enjoy the journey!
Ahhh...cockpit showers: The ultimate luxury!
That swell - yikes! Good luck @2bccfamily.bsky.social !
Great advice!I am not handy. Even though my DH is handy, we still went simple. We didn’t want to spend hours fixing an outboard for the dinghy so we went without it. That meant we paddled a kayak everywhere we boated…but it also meant we spent more time exploring than we spent fixing things.
That's more exercise than I do some days on land. Stay strong Nica!
