The entire 1983 Stevie Ray Vaughan ACL concert has been uploaded. I've queued it up to start on "Tin pan Alley," but the whole thing is worth watching --- after you "like" this post, of course. 😃

Fun, but snow filled/delay riddled trip (on both ends) to visit with folks at the Montreal Heart Institue to talk about vascular anomalies. Great talks with faculty, students, and postdocs and some fantastic questions/ideas.

We've added two gnomAD coverage tracks on human hg38:
gnomAD v4 Exome Coverage — mean/median depth & sample % at 1X–100X thresholds across exome samples.
gnomAD v3 Genome Coverage — same metrics for 71,702 whole-genome samples.

Joshua noted that the number of applications in the data NIH released includes only applications that were discussed at study section. This is approximately 50% of the applications submitted.
I have estimated these numbers in a slightly more sophisticated way, but these are still estimates.

Temperature change from Wednesday to Thursday afternoon
DC pulled off a ridiculous weather flip: 86 Wednesday to as low as 33 with snow today.
53-degree drop is largest 24-hour fall on record at National. 77 today & 86 Wed are warmest same and prior day to snow accumulation, too.
Dulles also joined the history book with combo. More: cwg.live ❄️🔥

Here is the "effective payline" for each institute, estimated (by Claude) as the percentile where one can expect 80% probability of funding from a logistic regression fit. The effective payline has gone from a historic ~12% to 6% in 2025.
Fascinating account of trying to find a cure for frontotemporal dementia (FTD): great advances in our understanding of one variant (mutations in GRN resulting in TDP43 proteinopathy) but no success yet with respect to treatment.

awesome @navbo.bsky.social webinar today from Dr. Sarah Sheppard at the NIH on lymphatic malformations!
A nice drizzle across the pie after baking to finish would be super I bet, or if indulgent use a thin layer across the dough as the sauce would probably taste awesome (for the above one I usually only put down olive oil as the sauce).
Bacon, mandolin thin cut potatoes (like for an au gratin), and extra sharp white cheddar is amazing. Just have to cook the bacon and roast the potatoes before putting the pie together and in the oven.
