Climbing very good for giving the mind something to do instead of thinking of the horrors

Astounded and honestly outraged that code worked first time
While all you slackers are at GDC I'll be making a video game
Important!! You can PLAY the weird little game I spent a good while making!
Like, right now!
Commander Farsight writes a Steam review for Australia Did It: "I've been waiting for this game ever since I saw the first trailer and it did not disappoint! An absolutely fascinating mix of tower defense, bullet hell, and turn based combat that takes incredible queues from games like Into The Breach and Colossatron while forging its own path. I love the aesthetic, and the units are a mix of odd, eccentric designs while still having clear archetypes. The merging is a fun take on a tired mechanic, turning it into a way to slingshot units across the map or desperately summon the correct answer to a particular enemy. As each round presents a unique and interesting puzzle to solve, you're forced to pick between where to best allocate resources without ever being able to fully control how the pieces fall, making those few times when you wipe the whole board clean truly memorable. Once the turn based combat ends, the game is flipped on its head! The on-the-rails, bullet-hell train sequences are frantic and chaotic, yet reward thought out plans by making it so a variety of units in each train car provide a greater toolbox to tackle the swarms of insects and robots that want nothing more than to tear your train apart. New merges can even prove to be a detriment if it means losing a critical source of a specific type of bullet pattern or damage type, so sometimes keeping weaker units actually makes for a better train defense. Overall, the game has its quirks and a bit of a steep learning curve at first, but god does it feel amazing when it really clicks. I seriously cannot wait for full release!"
Early player reviews of the Australia Did It Demo seem to really click with it. So much of this review were explicit design goals and we made something so weird I wasn't sure it'd click. If you wrote this, thank you - you made my night.
Give it a go, too? store.steampowered.com/app/3859010/...
I'm in danger when Australia Did It launches given how moreish its tactical tower defence is. Heaps of mechanics elegantly come together, and I had a great little chat with @ramiismail.com about it!
It's crazy that the best game OST ever made was made for a HL2 mod

Just look at him go down there
I need my work binkie (little DJ man playing ambient techno in the corner of my monitor)
You don't have to save everybody, nobody can. Save yourself first, then protect as many as you can. If everyone sheltered just a couple people with all their effort, we'd make it easily.
Some of the Australia Did It team on a beach in Iceland (I don't have a picture of everyone, sorry!)
My highlight of the year is, without a doubt, meeting up with the Australia Did It team and their SO's in Iceland. Through adventures and late night chats I turned teammates I liked into friends I love 💖

The process of writing our recap post is always such a joy. I really enjoy getting to step back and reflect on what our little team has accomplished!
Yeah we've had a few things get super held up specifically with USPS. At least two different packages got stuck at a facility for over a week.

tbh I’m pretty proud of how much junk I’m jamming onto this half breadboard
An electronic timer device that looks suspiciously like a bomb, despite the author’s best intentions
Added a lipo fuel gauge and set it up to display the pct/voltage for debug, plus a cute little battery warning icon at 5%
thank you algorithm this is precisely what I needed
This embroidery goes HARD I am very stoked to get my hands on some of these
I was planning on upgrading the ram in my laptop and holding out to buy it for a while... fuck me I guess 🥲
Yeah I can only play CK3 when I'm on vacation and it has to be a long enough vacation for me to hit my burn out point before I have to return to the real world
