I have to go with Anahareo on this one - mostly because the idea of an Englishman going native and her observations on that should be interesting. My father didn't go to such extremes, but he did find something special here in Canada that he couldn't get in England.

Get a change of scenery it's no cure but it can help break you out of where your head is at.

You are not alone, many of us have been where you are now, and while we don't know your exact circumstances, we do know that taking a rash decision is not the way forward.

Please get some help.

I'm just some old straight white guy you don't know, but I have stood on this cliff edge before. You are not the problem, bigoted assholes are the problem. Take a breath, and know that in time, things will look better Holly, I promise you.

Lou Zocchi with his ventriloquism dummy, Woody.

The legendary game designer, distributor, and publisher Louis Zocchi has left us at the age of 91. He founded Zocchi Distribution (the first distributor dedicated exclusively to hobby games) and Gamescience (which made games and polyhedral dice).

Our second piece of furniture in our new (to us) house, the first was a cat tree. There are other book shelves, this is merely the most impressive. Yes there is a biography of a controversial 1940's military figure, there's one of Hitler too - both are for research.

I works in a pretty specialized area most models are unlikely to be trained on so capabilities are lacking. We're also implementing AI by fiat from above so direction and tools are lacking. Finally I work in a bilingual sometimes multilingual environment where AI could help with translation /2

The 🍁PM is hot on AI, so as a civil servant I feel (slightly) obligated to use the tools provided to us.

It mostly sucks, mostly

Looking for any starter packs or lists for discussing Canadian military history. Missing chatting with all you folks who follow @otdmilhistory.bsky.social. I'm doing a deep dive on 4th Armoured and I have General questions... C'mon Foulkes or is it Vokes? 😉

I don't think responsibly means what you think it does. Millions on new stadia and police while transit crumbles under the RTO you asked for.
