1/ Scientific research isn’t just knowledge generation, it’s training future physicians, therapists, healthcare providers, policy advocates, educators, data scientists, financial workers in corporate America, and more, it’s allowing us to learn from our collective humanity.

Shutting down medical research — not just within NIH, but everywhere that’s funded by NIH — will have long-term effects on medicine & short-term effects on state, higher education & hospital budgets. This affects all of us, not just researchers.

Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing – The White House By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1.

In addition to the NIH halt, this order aims to create (among other things) a list of all federally funded grants that involve DEIA "under whatever name they appear". They're coming for research involving health equity, social determinants of health, centering marginalized populations, etc.
