An 18-mile stroll? People are going on 'extreme walks.' Extreme walks are a fun way to explore a city. Just be cautious.

Hopefully, this will inspire more close-in trekking and the creation of more quality, readily accessible walking infrastructure! (Check out "Beyond Greenways"--Island Press.) www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/an...

Zanzibar's Stone Town-- a friendly, highly walkable exotic place! We started out on our own appreciating the well-placed interpretive placards around town but soon, Omar, a friendly, knowledgeable, very affodable guide came up to us in a town square, offering to lead us.

We took an amazing loop walk through old Savannah. Followed a route laid out in a scenic trolley ride brochure

After that, we sauntered through Bonaventure Cemetery, where John Muir camped on his epic walk through the South.

Savannah is one of the best walking cities I've ever experienced!
