Trump has really, seriously, frighteningly lost his mind His latest threat is bonkers

Trump has really, seriously, frighteningly lost his mind.

It won’t happen soon, but if Trump continues to deteriorate, Republicans won’t have any alternative but to remove him from office. Neither will America. robertreich.substack.com/p/trump-has-really-serio...

A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nation’s people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.

We mustn’t let this war do so.

The richest 0.1 percent of the global population are hiding nearly $3 trillion in offshore accounts to evade taxes — more than the wealth held by the entire bottom half of humanity.

It would take about $93 billion per year to eradicate extreme hunger by 2030.

Taxing the rich is a global necessity.

Great Intersolar panel moderated by @sammyroth.bsky.social.

Would’ve loved to see more on DER + VPP progress lowering bills, boosting reliability, and strengthening resilience. Local solar + storage are working.

Arnab Pal was right: we need strong policies, proposals, and advocacy. Let’s be ready.

Appalachian Voices statement on White House coal actions President Donald Trump ordered a series of actions this week intended to prop up America’s declining coal industry. Trump announced that the Department of Energy will pay electric utilities $175 million for upgrades to aging coal plants in Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia. Trump also ordered the Pentagon to buy more coal-generated power, though did not specify where such power might be purchased.

“The reason the coal industry is in long-term decline is that #coal is simply no longer an economic resource for electricity generation compared to cheaper alternatives, particularly renewable resources like wind and solar,” said AV Executive Director Tom Cormons. https://loom.ly/W0t0Q4o

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized its repeal of the endangerment finding and the rollback of climate emissions standards for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles. By doing so, the EPA is rejecting settled law and science to benefit polluters.

America has 925 billionaires as of this year. Collectively they have a record $6.9 trillion in wealth.

The bottom 50% of Americans control $4.2 trillion in wealth.

When 925 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

EPA considers terminating $7B Solar For All program If the Trump administration moves forward to claw back the funding, “we will see them in court,” said Kym Meyer, litigation director at the Southern Environmental Law Center.

Collateral damage? This won’t hurt just the communities deprived of the investment. We all lose because the grid doesn’t get these flexible resource just when we need them.
