AGAINST AI -

AI is theft. AI is environmental destruction. AI is anti-labor. AI concentrates power in tech capital. AI atrophies intellectual capacities. Here's something useful for struggling against its effects in education, courtesy of Anna Kornbluh, Eric Hayot, and Krista Muratore.

Dyed Carnations A number, not a hue, this blue is not the undertone of any one but there it is, primary. I opened the toxic sachet of flower food with my canine and rinsed my mouth.

Here's a terrific poem by Robyn Schiff.

A well-thumbed Bloomsday to you all. Apart from the obvious, what are the best books (fiction, non fiction, poetry) about Dublin?

Roadrunning: Joshua Clover in Conversation with Alex Abramovich November 10, 2021 – Emails about rock ’n’ roll freedom, American capitalism, and automobiles.

Ah god dammit. Joshua Clover wrote about both people and music as if he loved them so much he couldn’t bear it, & indeed he really did love them like this, to the joy of those he knew & shaped, & to the consternation of those who loved either less. What a loss. www.theparisreview.org/blog/2021/11...

After Nelson’s Pillar was blown up, Nelson’s head ended up in the hands of students at the College of Art and it would randomly appear at gigs on stage for years.

You can see it today upstairs in the corner of Pearse Street Library.

Covid anniversary: Anger at no national memorial events in Wales - BBC News A campaign group believes Wales, as a nation, should remember those lost during the Covid pandemic.

Come on, Wales. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I’m remembering today, as an asthmatic child who’d a number of bad chest doses between ages 6 and 12, watching Pat Ingoldsby on his RTÉ TV show, as he takes out his blue inhaler, upturns it to the camera, and transforms it into a submarine periscope. 💚 #PatIngoldsby #Ireland #Legend
