Luckily, we had access to a platform that made the (almost) impossible possible:

No workarounds. No post-hoc tricks. Just clean, synchronized data.
We've been recording simultaneously from multiple wearables (smart bands, cardio watches, smart rings) on BOTH hands, while capturing a gold-standard ECG in parallel.
The catch? Fair comparison only works if every sensor records the same event, at the same moment, perfectly time-aligned.
Most of the time we pick a device based on availability, not evidence.
But the choice of variable, side, and modality directly impacts signal quality, artifact levels, and how well findings generalize.
That's why we designed this study.
