You don’t break the cycle, you embrace it

Some have a kissing tree, some have a thinking tree, some have a tree they tell their secrets to. I am a greedy witch. I've as many trees as lovers and I've performed magic with most of them. My favoured wood is like a party filled with old friends to talk to. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
Sleep well Hookland
Sometimes as a witch I will go those places in the wood where winter lingers and sing spring's green songs. Not as summoning, but as blossom reminder, as hope of returning chiffchaff chorus. Whether I do this to remind myself of renewal or the wood becomes blur. – #EmilyCBantingt #WitchSky
Pleasant dreams Hookland
The witch knows that places weave themselves into her story with the dance of their shadows, the singing of their songs. She becomes aware this process is bidirectional. The witch walks the wood and it remembers her footfall, every conversation with its spirits. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
May you get all that you need and please, don’t be afraid to ask. Hookland has been a refuge and a comfort to many of us and we are ready and able to give back
You should be able to talk to a pharmacist on staff to see if they can ensure that they won’t fill your script with a pill that contains potato. Wegmans or any place that has multiple folks on staff should be able to take the time to discuss ingredients
Your insurance company should be able to answer if the compound pharmacy is covered. Some pharmacies are better at ensuring their pills don’t have ingredients you’re allergic to. Wegmans would probably be great as they’re cheaper and they have multiple people on staff
There’s an Akina pharmacy near you that does compounding and seems to have good prices & reviews. May be worth giving them a call . Good RX may be another avenue to explore. They have discount cards I’ve used previously as it was cheaper than insurance or you can get meds direct from them
Can a compound pharmacy fill your script without the filler?
The witch's calendar of harvest refuses ink-marked dates. She knows the turn year by berry swell, by movements through colour towards ripeness. She waits on the mistletoe drupe, not in hope of Christmas kisses, but future cures. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
The witch knows the turn of year through the sweet tang of apple rot carpet. She knows it in the slow striptease of hawthorn, knows it the wrinkling skin of berries. She requires no calendar but nature. Each season is sacred. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
I’ve had boneset show up in pots in my balcony the past couple of years

Gasp! Donnie Darko was an alright movie. “Cellar Door”
For the witch's listening to the land isn't always a pleasantness. Spots that to others are picturesque may scream their sorrows to her. The loss felt by trees of a felled neighbour. The nitrate smothering of river. The are wounded places that will scratch her soul. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
Lemme know if you need me to give the ghosties an eviction
I hope some day you collect these all into a book

The witch's walk is always a crossing of thresholds. The witch's way through the world always a dance with shadows. There is mud on her boots and a hundred omenic languages in her mouth. She has no time for your hierarchical bullshit. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
John Waters standing beside a wall with a sign that says: The John Waters Restrooms. All Gender. Not my photo.
In 2000, John Waters donated 372 pieces of his art collection to the Baltimore Museum of Art. They named a rotunda after him in their gallery. He requested an all-gender restroom be named for him instead. #BOTD

The tongue of the witch has words taught by trees, secret phrases loaned to her by the wind. Her accent is shaped by the paths she walks, the hedges that take their tithe of scratches. It is a thousand keys to unlock or bind. A thousand names to bless or curse. – #EmilyCBanting #WitchSky
Most of the academic books I discovered was through author podcast interviews; other times, it has been through Bluesky, posts or browsing various bookshelf subreddits
I echo your comments. The high cost of academic books usually stops me from purchasing. (Sometimes I luck out on the used market or if there is a sale or coupon code. Usually, those I am interested in languish in bookmarks and wishlists.)
Long before the trees have taken to wearing green again, woodpeckers drum their territory. The sleeping spirits of the wood try to ignore this alarm, but their winter rest is broken. You feel their waking across your psychic skin. Hundreds of eyes opening to watch you as you walk. - #EmilyCBanting
Congratulations!
