I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

why does my back hurt 🦌
Had a lovely time interviewing the very sharp @olddog.games about his incredible sequel to Blades in the Dark for @springmagca.bsky.social. Blades ‘68 is both radical and extremely rad—it’s just what a work of art should be.

the human made icon
I want to be a better steward for the Human Made icon. If you have any ideas on how I can get the word out for it more please let me know. Do you think game retailers would be interested in stickers they could pass out? folks interested in pins? What can I do to support you using this icon? a zine?
A splash image for "Mooncroft Manor." Two figures huddle in a dark space full of antique objects. One holds up a flame for them to see by; the other embraces their companion—but holds a knife behind their back, ready to betray them. The image is rendered in cold colors, except for the bright pink light of the magical flame.
MOONCROFT MANOR is out today! Want a story game where wizards ruin themselves against the shores of their own ambitions? Want to play with AND against your friends? Click the link to check it out:

Thank you! Some of these are preexisting groups in the wider setting mythos (in some cases not even devised by me originally), others are debuting in this campaign.
The main culture here has an Iberian (Spanish/Arabic) cultural base, and the 2nd biggest are French Space Capitalists, among others.

Excuse you, it's 35 - 48 if you also count the citizenry of the 13 city districts.
(It is, in fact, glorious.)
btw if anyone wants an idea of how big Lancer is, this is just over 10x the downloads Armour Astir has at like, 3 spots behind it on itch top rated. both the paid + free version combined. saluting my colossal neighbour. godspeed leviathan
You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.
I've wished for Arab-made games about Arab mythology for so long, and despite assisting on the project I still can't believe there's one swinging for the fences this hard. House of Hikmah is something very needed in a time where the world would rather erase us.

“If you use <insert grammatical pet peeve here> then I know your writing was done by AI.”
Cool, and if you use AI paranoia to try and shame a writing style you don’t like, then I know you’re a bit of a cunt.
I am jumping on the bandwagon and writing a blog post about Marathon. Except instead this is a post about gaming on the Linux ecosystem and how game developers are hurting themselves by blocking Linux users, because I can't play Marathon on my computer.

A spread from Blades '68 featuring a Ministry of Stability propaganda poster: "Don't Let Them Burst Our Bubble", it reads, with a sinister handing holding a needle near a blue bubble.
A spread from Blades '68 showing "Life in '68", including 6 little cars/autopods in a variety of colours and styles.
A spread from Blades '68 showing Hit Squad opportunities, accompanied by an illustration of a figure silhouetted in front of a round window. The city sky is red. She holds a silenced shooter.
A spread from Blades '68 showing the Time Traveler From the Past write-up. The illustration shows a cloaked and hooded figure holding a blade, standing in a 1960s-styled apartment, looking out at the city beyond.
More art of Blades '68! It's almost out of my hands 🥲

they should die and their IP be released to the public domain, refertilizing the soil for the next season

With the HP trailer dropping tomorrow, here's the whole deal:
If you watch the show, hell even just the trailer, I will think less of you. I will dislike you. I will think you don't care about trans people.
That's it. It's been years. There's no wiggle room. No qualifiers. You care or you don't.
A cover for a ttrpg supplement called "The 106th Astir Squadron Grimoire". It's fairly abstract but conveys an occult, mysterious, magical atmosphere.
I'm still pretty good at this ttrpg cover design stuff
I'm gonna be thinking about "the more money spent on bad ideas, the less fun they are" a lot
reminds me of this classic
everyone gets mad at me when I point out that a 2050 date in a video game setting is, assuming current dev cycles, going to read to players who buy it on sale as “like a decade from now”
see?
here's the thing. A lot of people are like, the earth is fucked, it's beyond salvation, it's hit the tipping point, but time and time again we see that if we just fucking fixed the problem, it rebounds so incredibly fast. Imagine what could be done if people actually cared
