This man is the love child of Jason Stathem, Vin Diesel and Vinny Jones, and I’ll hear no arguments on it.

Great work as always @maxhamm.bsky.social

Had to add a personal favourites from an old video on Beastheart and potential Companions.

Can I get an amen from all my Mot lovers out there?

They loved it, and I’ve since got it framed for the door to my study.

We as a group have been playing D&D together for 6 years. Once this campaign closes, we’re off to new systems (Draw Steep, Lancer, SWRPG) but it’s been so fun to finish our time with D&D with something special.

So I jumped onto Procreate and got to work. Some months later, I got to show the players my work. All of their characters are represented, along with key scenes, friends and villains met, all with a backdrop of the setting for the game, The Vales and the Antonine Province.

The Muses struck me with the idea after a side adventure in the campaign. Surely in all the possible universes, there is a film of our campaign, and from there a move poster, in the style of big epic adventure films like these ones.

Now that my players have seen it, I wanted to share my latest art project.

Our 4 year campaign, covering 3 in game heroic generations, is coming to its dramatic conclusion.

To celebrate I designed and painted this.

A great watch and initiative by @jondenor.com and @abol-tabol.bsky.social.

Their thoughts chimed with mine for a lot of The Great Thaw of Gryzmithrak Spire. Its a strong adventure, and was the first one ever published for Draw Steel.

Also a great watch for me to get better at adventure design.

My DMing Style
My DMing Style YouTube video by Matthew Colville

This came from the recent @mattcolville.bsky.social video about GM style.

youtu.be/tr22j6TqGDo?...

There are loads of guides, diagrams, and the like about player types, but nothing so far seen about GMs/Directors/Leads etc.

A really interesting conversation that has gripped the MCDM community.

A wonderful piece of medieval fiction. You’ll find a classic piece of heroic fiction therein, one that I wholeheartedly recommend.

Henry of Skalig stands on a dirt path next to a hut. A poleaxe rests on his shoulder, with a sword at his hip and bow on his back, the sun setting before him. He wears a ragged coat and hood, with good armour besides. The strap of his kettle helmet hangs loose.

Well isn’t #KCD2 just swell. Can’t remember when I’ve had such fun exploring an in game world since this one.

Oh and the outfits!

I love my ragged fighty Henry. Just look at his battered helm with the hanging strap.

The Thirteen Gun Salute, by Patrick O'Brian - ⭐⭐⭐

Not the greatest in the series, with a few scenes that fell flat for me, it was still a fine read. I'm always up for more Aubrey & Maturin.

Great article. Very fun. He talks about a piece Monty Don (an idol of mine) wrote for the Guardian on effective garden wear.

It is equally a delightful read.

That’s my thoughts. AI is just a new generations more diabolical clip art.

Art is made by Humans for Humans. AI generated images make a picture, but it cannot make the endeavour of creation that is so unique and wonderful to art.

My art may never be the greatest. Maybe an AI can generate something like it far more easily, and quickly.

But it is nowhere near as good as anything made by a human, for the endeavour time and joy in the making.

Making art is a human endeavour for other humans. It is made for many reasons of course, but art, I believe at its core, is about making and sharing something with other humans, as a human endeavour.

And what a wonderful human endeavour it is.

AI can make an image of something but that’s not art. The lack of effort, the ease of the process, the slop of such activity does not make it so.

AI can make an image for a poster, but it cannot make art.
