I've made a little more progress with the color blocking. It still feels a bit messy to me, sometimes I have trouble balancing the shadow colors.

It's very Earth-like, being a planet with water dominating the surface and with a moon largely composed out of silicium and iron

To be fair your world has more land than water so it isn't odd that you would have a lot more desert areas.
But when I was talking about a green world, it was mostly about self-sustaining and environmental friendly.
