Oh, the way this story fills me with delicious anxiety. June has her finger so firmly on the pulse of what makes humans tick. <3

I got the feeling that he’d mostly heard of Monty Python. He didn’t seem to know what I meant when I said TG had created the animations

I know, right? Are we losing Brazil to the detritus of time? It’s still available to stream in some places, I just checked. Maybe he’s just not into film.

Question: Have you heard of Terry Gilliam?

I ask because this weekend I met a man, maybe in his early 30s, very culturally literate, British, who'd never heard of him or any of his films. He knew Monty Python, but that's it.

It kind of freaked me out.

Just FYI: If you follow me, and I check your profile out and you've posted a ton of AI product images, I will never follow you back.

Which is more depressing? Going to Letterboxd and seeing an objectively awful film with majority positive reviews or seeing a brilliant film with mostly negative reviews?

I’m filling out a giant government form by hand like it’s 1980 and learning that when I write in all caps my handwriting looks like a serial killer’s.

The idea of read a novel or short story or poem or any creative writing generated by AI makes me feel physically sick. I don't care if it's "good". It would be dead. A dead thing with no energy or ideas behind it. Fiction is communication between humans. AI product is nothing.
