Yes but how long will releasing full new versions with multiple non security changes be enough noise to slow down AI analysis when AI can systematically diff entire version updates to find the security holes? We have a serious update problem ahead, & we don’t have a safe AI answer to speed it up yet

Automation can only solve your reliability problems if that automation is perfect. But if you were capable of writing perfect software, we wouldnt be talking about your reliability problems.
Automation is only part of the reliability story, you’ve got to be ready for when it breaks, too.
Normal Tuesday. Got a few meetings today but not too many. President's threatening to genocide millions of people and there are folks flying around the moon in the fucking sky. Gotta take out the garbage later

OH: the fastest way to show to your board that your company is really using AI? Sign up for a Claude enterprise plan and pay 5X the cost!
> Maybe this is our future world. But I'm opting for something different. The doubling down on the people. To be more human than ever. To light that candle and help others see that we've barely touched the surface of what community can be.
i do not think people understand how much it scares the forces of evil that you have allegiance to humanity, not any given nation
You know how in a library no one’s trying to sell you anything?
That’s how the internet was.
This is the real takeaway from the Parable series — that we should find our people and organize our lives together.
Not, "Octavia Butler predicted the future."
Evergreen topic with my financial advisor :)
I don't think either political party -- or anyone in politics, really -- is thinking in ambitious enough terms about the electricity grid. We need to start thinking of it as the foundation of our 21st century economy & prosperity. It needs to be rethought, rebuilt, & made a solid base for growth.
Makes accelerating my next career move of sitting on the porch yelling at kids heading into high school across the street to skip college and take up a trade fucking appealing.
Dealing with exclusively copilot written and incorrect technical emails from vendors and other execs trying to show up as more knowledgeable in a space I have been in for (check notes) 30 years is exhausting and...not fulfilling.

The consequences of being able to generate code with AI much more quickly than we can validate that code is Nature’s way of teaching us about Erik Hollnagel’s ETTO Principle. www.erikhollnagel.com/ideas/etto-principle/ind...
we are laying the ground work to build some of the most community-oriented, family-friendly, and climate adaptive #socialhousing in the world.
LFG!!!
A post on X from the betting platform Polymarket that says “BREAKING: Anthropic CEO says Claude may or may not have gained consciousness, as the model has begun showing symptoms of anxiety.”
Literally as I’m arguing with someone about whether AI companies are misleading people into believing their technology possesses God-like super-intelligence I see this monstrosity
After the AWS outages in UAE over the weekend due to drone debris, I wonder the same thing about US based hyperscaler data centers. Their locations are not exactly secret, fragile roofs, and I can't imagine they have drone protection (at least not yet).
+1 all of this, especially the media comment. Al Jazeera is the closest you are going to get to on the ground reporting reality. www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblo...
Repairing specialized equipment in a war zone where engineers are justifiably focused on their safety and no ability to fly equipment/people in is very non-trivial.
I can't remember last time, if any, that AWS recommended enacting DR plans to restore in an alternate region? Folks running in UAE just got asked to move over to EU. health.aws.amazon.com/health/status

France just announced they are going to expand their nuclear stockpile and allow deployment to allied countries.
This is the right answer for every country, unfortunately. US has made it clear what happens if you give up your nukes. Amazing timeline we are in.

Accurate.
As someone who was around in 1991 and 2003 I can affirm that US cable news and options like the BBC are going to be useless and intolerable on events in Iran so just watch AJE on YouTube imho www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCNe...

So disappointing. I remember when they were expressing desires to morph into a National Lab. Always thought that was a right answer.
Now that National Labs are being dismantled vs. invested in (we live in an epic timeline) and massive investors/ customers knocking at the door...here we are.
And of course, ICE and CBP are all still being paid.
DHS decides to shutdown TSA Precheck in response to funding. Said this was to address staffing issues.
In what should be a surprise to no one, Precheck lines were fully staffed at SeaTac. They were just forcing all to do the general screening dance, making it harder on unpaid TSA employees.
I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.
And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
