But on that note donating it to goodwill, for it not to sell, then goodwill throws it away. If anything goodwill propetuates the notion that "we can make anything we want we can just pawn it off on goodwill"

And also goodwill also kind of really suck, exploits workers etc etc etc. there's been a lot recently talking about goodwills not so "goodwill"

I think if companies over produce holiday merch they should be legally responsible for it long term.
