Imagine the impact that will have at the VA, which has already been weakened by budget cuts.

Hi, I’m here for TACO Tuesday. Do you have any specials?

It is, under normal circumstances. But you have a war, and the economy crumbling.

War and tariffs.

It would still be NAFTA if they hadn’t gotten cute.

Bring that to Ann Arbor and it would sell out.

Maybe it should have been LIV walking away.

Basically, our town exclaimed “NO!” in unison.

The expression “more Catholic than the Pope” comes to mind this morning.

Turbulent day here in Ann Arbor.
- U-M’s brand new president, who started April 1, has been diagnosed with brain cancer and will not serve.
- A tornado warned storm swept through overnight, tore part of the roof off Yost Arena and a local rink. Trees and power lines down across town.

It’s been a long spiral downward for them. Sad.

Who else wants to quit Congress? Good time to do so to limit the attention.

There are three classes of intellects: one which comprehends by itself; another which appreciates what others comprehend; and a third which neither comprehends by itself nor by the showing of others; the first is the most excellent, the second is good, the third is useless.

The UAW and the carmakers negotiate longer than the U.S. and Iran. Give me a break.

The American farmers I know haven’t a clue whether their usual overseas customers will want any of their crop this year.

I was very close to my mum and it took me about five months to be able to see clearly. But I never felt guilty for enjoying myself, because she enjoyed herself. She was still entertaining friends in hospice before she died.

It’s an excellent silent movie, one the biggest ever made, and one of the last.

The Hot Ronald Colman (Lions, Towers & Shields 138) Someone suggested we honor the films of 1926 — 100 years ago — and so we shall. Beau Geste has been remade often, but here is the original, starring Ronald Colman in his matinee idol period. S recent massive restoration of the film has the film looking great, with lots of footage restored. It’s a silent film, if that affects your interest, but it’s quite compelling.

It’s really gutsy to be talking about the presidential race when they’ve barely printed your office stationery. But here we are.

I’ve had this conversation here in Michigan, and it’s true: politicians who do an end run around disgruntled voters at home and court the national media. Happening now. We see you doing it.

As for media falling for it: make a couple calls back to their city, state or district. Won’t take much.

Was this the plan all along? Were the Soviets behind this?
(Yes, I am old-school and still call them that.)
