Investigating Wish.com's high LCP led me down a rabbit hole of performance paper cuts. But I was able to reduce their LCP from 7.12s to 1.67s, and that was with only a couple of my recommended improvements in place. Read to find out how!

Comparing three similar, but quite different, "pre-fetch" techniques, explaining how they are similar, how they are different, when each should be used, and how together they create a powerful performance trio.
Getting excited to hop on this call with the great @henrihelvetica.bsky.social!
Who's joining???
@comicss.art Oh, cool, will give it a try again later today! I also had a couple times where I would type and suddenly got thrown to the top, or some other random place, so my continued typing would overwrite stuff... 😂
Honestly, not that fun on my laptop keyboard either, seems to throw me all over the place sometimes... but also not sure how I would recommend fixing it... Having to click every "next" box would be annoying... :-? Really, really cool, though! :-)
New game! This week, it is a HTML-themed crossword.

Not fun on mobile, but sending to laptop. I just started getting into crossword puzzles!!! 😊
Biggest turd in the world. So stupid, we need a new scale…
That man looks… serious about what he is about to do… 😊
Ditto for Podcasts…
Yeah, never understood that… I guess they’re not tracking the conversion? Would
Maybe be smarter to just always recommend “related items”, as they might always be applicable…
So, based on Mr. Murphy’s comments, Fox News’ license was pulled 23 years ago???
Oh, I disagree completely… it is exactly that…
Doesn’t `performance.getEntriesByType("navigation")[0].type` already offer that? Would be “reload”, no? Or too convoluted / separated?
Not knocking your demo, @matuzo.at, but never understood these progress trackers… doesn’t the scroll bar already do that?? 🤣
The absolute fool-fuckery is astounding… I doubt these idiots can even put their own pants on…
Brava!! 🎉🥳

This surveillance can happen through all sorts of apps, such as video games, news apps, weather trackers, and dating apps.
This would be a great addition to every CMS, as a page is published/updated, right before it is cached! 🥰
Taught Claude Code to prioritise loading the first image in a post 😉

Speedcurve’s Page Speed Benchmarks reported Costco.com's LCP averaging at 6.85s. But could it be that CLS is at least part of the problem? Read to find out!
Thanks. But the tool isn’t the problem, it’s how it is wielded… 😕
On February 18, 2026, I sat down with Chrisitan Heilmann of Coffee with Developers to chat about NoLoJS and lots and lots of other web-type stuff. Have a listen and let me know what you think!
Speedcurve’s Page Speed Benchmarks reported Nike.com's LCP averaging at 4.36s. I got it down to 1.36s. Read to find out how! @Nike
After YEARS of the same design and having only a blogroll as my home page, I decided to add a landing page in front. Things are likely to change, but would love to hear what you think so far!
Shoot that sucks… At least if not painful, that’s good, but the numbness must be really annoying…
@mastrojs.bsky.social Also, if by graphic, you mean like a screengrab or something, isn't the live demo and CodePen even better? Or maybe I don't fully understand you...
Hey @mastrojs.bsky.social. Thanks! Yeah, had wanted that, but the list is auto-generated, plus this also resolves am issue I had with the initial repo (which does use sub-directories like that), where visibility was limited (hard to know there are more Carousels "under" CSS Carousels... :-?
