In regard to reactionary thinking within leftist and queer spaces, I think my biggest pet peeve has to be the use of thought-terminating clichés. Such clichés are so often and historically used to paint us as villains, so to see a peer shut down critical thinking in the same way is frustrating.

Unfortunately the education involved can be taboo at times, which can really make people adverse to change.

It really saddens me just how often I see this kind of thinking within queer and leftist spaces. People bashing each other for being “weird” and using the same kind of moral attribution seen by our oppressors. We broke free by being our weird selves - we shouldn’t force ourselves to lose that.

With anti-censorship being one of my core values, I’d really like to help educate people (in queer and leftist spaces specifically) to not fall into reactionary thinking, and how to escape it. I hope I do a good job, somehow…

Really cool how whenever there's a progressive candidate for anything there's like a 90% chance they're on the fence about trans rights. Or they talk about trans issues during their campaign only to completely ignore their trans constituents when elected.

If I had to guess, his misery was mild discomfort while the misery he inflicts will be fighting for the loss of human rights.

I despise the constant framing of this as a "debate" - there is a concerted effort by a bunch of wealthy transphobes and their mates in politics and the press to push trans people further to the margins, and our resistance to that being framed as "uncouth" is just tone policing

i think the thing with the pope, and this is true for many people so it's kind of ridiculous to say it about him in particular, is the more progressive and anti-fascist his messaging the more it stings that it doesn't extend to trans people

Reminds me of the time some Food Not Bombs volunteers were arrested in Orlando for giving out food to the unhoused without a permit. The mayor publicly called them “food terrorists” and tried to take them to court.

I won’t spoil anything but the amount of crazy game-changing stuff you can do in the game ONLY if you’ve figured out certain spell combos or secrets is genuinely insane. Like… change your entire perspective on the game type crazy.

Ah yeah I was def going to recommend Outer Wilds and Fez. Another good addition might be Noita? It’s a bit different but you start the game with everything you need to beat it. Progression is accomplished by leaning how to use spells by experimentation. It’s pretty fun! Although dying can suck lol
