today in horrible tricks CHORDIOID uses under the hood:

for some reason, godot only allows setting a song's loop point at an integer beat position. that doesn't really work with variable BPM, so CHORDIOID just ramps up the tempo ludicrously high to set the loop at an arbitrary level of precision!
