And that’s a wrap! A pretty decent album with a couple of really strong tracks. I’ll probably listen to it a couple more times but not sure it’ll make my top 20 favourite albums. Poison Vine is one of the best songs I’ve heard in a while though! 😃

10 - Birds Heading South. There’s something of Bowie in his voice on this track. Another one that grew on me as it went. 7.5 / 10. #Cast

9 - Teardrops. Ah. Now, confession, this is what I thought the whole album would be like. Bland middle age heard-it-all-before slow Indy rock. 5/10. #Cast

8 - Weight Of The World. Notably not as good as the last track. Not bad but average album track. 6/10. #Cast

7 - Devil And The Deep. Acoustic guitar. Big big fan. His voice really suits this. Probably my 2nd favourite track on the album so far. 9/10. #Cast

6 - Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah) ft. P.P. Arnold. I think #PPArnold needs to join the band full time. Just gives the tracks an extra dimension. Like Gimme Shelter. 8/10 #Cast

5 - Say Something New. He’s got his BritPop voice on here. Grew on me as it went on. 7.5 / 10. #Cast

4 - Free Love. Tempo brought down a bit from frantic start. Thought I may not like it. I was wrong. Great tune. 8/10. #Cast

3 - Calling Out Your Name. Decent. Reckon it’s probably a grower too. 7.5 / 10. #Cast

2 - Don’t Look Away. A classic early sounding #Cast track at their best. 8/10. Pushing a 9.

Track 1 - Poison Vine ft. P.P. Arnold. This is an absolute funky uplifting makes-you-move banger. Can’t fault it, so it’s a 10/10! Great start. #Cast

When I’m watching trash TV and see a selfish mother say to a child “I don’t want you to move away, it would break my heart”, I’m so, so grateful for my parents who encouraged me to spread my wings and move away, despite the pain it caused them. I have a wonderful life now, thanks to my parents.
