Anyone in East London looking for decent office/gaming chairs:
The office clear out place on Lea Bridge road has got a batch of Herman Millers in.

Sorry, didn't see your follow-up before posting. I'm not usually dissing others' fun :-).
The bournification of Bond. It turned every spy movie for a decade into a sweaty, de-coloured Mission Impossible clone without any fun or whimsy. I mean the best Bond films of that era wer probably XXX and The Incredibles :D.
Today I turn 89. I’ve seen this country at its best and its worst, and I know how much community matters. For my birthday, I’m asking you to stand with PFLAG and support the work that’s helped so many in the LGBTQ+ community, including me. give.pflag.org/page/95493/d...
Yes. And it absolutely sucked.

As Breaker first reported, CBS News has invited both Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller to be guests at their tables at the White House Correspondents' dinner just days after Ellison's cocktail soiree.
You might or or might not (but I’m guessing might not) be surprised to learn that CBS News invited Stephen Miller to be their guest at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Hegseth, too.

It's probably not a good sign for the US if you look at that, think "it's not as tasteless as I would have expected from Trump" and then realize it's the Nazi one...
Boston Globe mock front page from April 9, 2016. Date says April 9, 2017, with giant headline “DEPORTATIONS TO BEGIN” and “Markets sink as trade war looms.”
Ten years ago today, in April 2016, the Boston Globe printed a satirical front page imagining a future Trump administration. The page was called "alarmist," "hyperbolic," "dystopian." But we’ve put up with so much since then it now looks like . . . a slow Thursday?

It's ace day! 🖤🤍💜 In case you didn't know, I'm a biromantic asexual, much like the main character of my Echo Archives series, the badass but tired new mom Kembral Thorne, who would love to have fun at this party but is stuck in a murder time loop with her cat burglar nemesis instead

Longtime college friend of mine, Mike Prinke, was among those laid off at Epic Games: he has been fighting terminal brain cancer, and now he, his wife, and kid, have no income or health insurance.
Sharing here in hopes it can reach the right people on their behalf.

Pretty much this. He changed humurous fantasy from also-reads like Asprin to main genre touchstone and common reference point. The question is more, how much genre there is past him. Although I would say the whole cozy fantasy ala Baldree would not have been commercially viable w/o him.
Regarding Fantasy I would say the Dragonlance books introduced so many tropes into the mainstream that they split the genre into tolkienesque and D&D-inspired commercial fantasy.

I am at Galactic Journey today, reviewing the delightful 1970 Czech children's fantasy series "Pan Tau". I also share my theory that Pan Tau is a Time Lord. Plus, the screen debut of the 21-year-old Ivana Trump to be: galacticjourney.org/march-26-197...
