Mirroring SQL Server 2025 to Microsoft Fabric, a level deeper Maybe you've read my blog post in the DP-700 certification series about mirroring data. You can find that one here. This blog will be longer and more technical. And involve SQL Server. To make reading a little easier, I've listed the Microsoft Learn pages at the end of this blog post. While writing the DP-700 post, I realised I wanted to dig a little deeper.

Blog alert!

This time a deep dive into SQL Server 2025 mirroring into Microsoft Fabric.

Microsoft Fabric, taking over orphaned deployment pipelines Last week, we ran into an issue where deployment pipelines are owned by a person who no longer works for our organisation. This meant we could not access the deployment pipelines owned by this account. API The way to recover them is to use API's. At first, we all thought that using the Fabric API's would work, but they didn't. After asking around, we found out that we should use the Power BI API's.

Blog alert!

This time on taking over the ownership of an orphaned deployment pipeline using PowerShell.

Getting Started With Log Shipping with John Morehouse
Getting Started With Log Shipping with John Morehouse In this video, Microsoft Data Platform MVP John Morehouse walks you through the fundamentals of SQL Server Log Shipping and how it fits into a solid disaster...

If you work with SQL Server, you should understand Log Shipping!

I created a walkthrough covering RPO/RTO, the architecture, the jobs, and a full configuration demo. It’s simple, reliable, & underrated.

AI and agents can make your life easier. I just checked a technical design on the Microsoft Learn best practices. And got great feedback on what was missing or outdated. The process took maybe 10 minutes; it would have cost me at least a day.

AI tools are demanding fighter pilot-level cognitive multitasking from every knowledge worker. We're neither selected for it nor trained for it - and a new Berkeley study suggests we're paying the price without anyone noticing.

On the Other Side of the World I’m in Redmond this week for the Microsoft MVP Summit - 4000 MVPs, 83 buildings across 500 acres, and not a single roadmap leak to share. The summit is NDA-covered, but that was never the point anyway...

PS. This blog builds on the one written by @arcticdba.se

The plan was to go for a burger. Then there was the option for stuttering bacon. This improved the experience as a whole. Apparently, they detected the European vibes, as part of the burger was set to 'Ikea mode', aka build it yourself with these parts on your plate.
But it was good!

Preparation Preparing for the MVP Summit is key. You have to build your schedule, but also try to see if product managers, engineers, and others are available to catch up over a cup of coffee.

You could, if you’d also accept that the elevator no longer abides the laws of gravity.
