Andrew Callaghan helped spread egregious misinformation about our organization and incited his audience to "destroy" us in retaliation for drawing attention to SA in psychedelic therapy.

Anti-trans hate groups petitioning FDA for registry of trans women, crackdown on transition, newly revealed document shows In the short term, this is not as dangerous as an outright ban on estrogen. If implemented and then combined with other methods of suppressing trans people, it might be far more destructive in the long term.

Not that it will ever stop artists from creating, exactly, but that it dilutes the space in a negative/exploitative way when a company just says “your style / work is essentially ours now and we can produce hundreds of images like yours in the time you can produce a sketch.”

Yeah I feel that. Though do think there’s some of both of those arguments that go hand in hand, in that Ai art pollutes the general pool of art and was also developed on a foundation of stolen material from real career artists. Sure people will still create, and people will still appreciate the novelty of human touch at weekend fairs and when someone is willing to pay top dollar. But for many, I think it means the death of a career (rather than a hobby/passion project). Just my two cents.

Textiles too, and argument to be made that generations of craftspeople were put out of full time work by automation as well. Many definitely resisted automation because they saw it that way. I think this is the reality facing illustrators, animators, VFX people, etc with AI.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
