About to make her suffer countless rounds of leap of faith for my amusement

Story writing is a wonderful thing. Exploring characters isn’t so different from exploring yourself. Ocs are to a degree an extension of ourselves.

Point is I wanted the mothers to have been a victim of something themselves. Which I guess helps me process that my own mom is a victim of several things herself. But no amount of genuine love for her child covers up the emotional bruises…

The focus isn’t sick people are cruel but more sick people can become cruel when the world is cruel to them first type deal. Or in Morgana’s case her mother’s cruelty is from ishgardian related systemic and generational bullshit. Don’t need to say much in that department cause… well it’s Ishgard.

None of them cruel for the sake of it tho cause Kohvu’a and Mosha’s birth mother suffered post partum and no one really helped her. So at the start of XIV’s story Kohvu has already made peace with the fact she was sick and needed help while his sister Mosha is still working through it.
