Violent crime in Portland has decreased significantly in 2025, with homicides down 52% and shootings down 33% compared with last year.
As a father of three, I worry less about climate and more about what we now accept from leaders. A Reuters/Ipsos poll shows 63% of us believe harsh rhetoric fuels violence. If those at the top can’t model civility, how can we expect it from anyone else?
