In regards to why Charlie would fake his own death I believe it was partly to push this narrative that is was the radical left and his trans lover.. and make charlie a Martyr for the right wing

one other thing I noticed when I zoomed in on this image. it looks like there is some "tubing" or something by his neck here.

Charlies team were a bunch of bumbling idiots...they didnt do a good job of faking it.... also in the amphitheater there are a bunch of security guys searching for something after the fact in the grass... what do you think they are searching for ?

also not sure if you mentioned this but it looks like Charlie does his own hand signal by touching his face oddly just before the "shot"

I agree with you.. best theory yet! the only issue I have is a shooter firing into the trunk. I dont think that was needed and would have been too risky... they could have just faked the gunshot sound with audio...
