E.P.A. Rule Would Drastically Curb Protections for Wetlands

The Trump Administration recently proposed limits to EPA's authority to protect wetlands and streams.

“This rule will mean more unsafe drinking water and more expensive water treatment costs for taxpayers,” said Jim Murphy, National Wildlife Federation.

Environmental advocates oppose Ohio House plan to cut clean water program nearly 45% Environmental advocates are among thoes opposing the Ohio House proposal to cut H2Ohio by nearly 45%. This possible change comes as the U.S. EPA and Trump administration also chop funding.

In 2014, the tap water in Toledo was unsafe to bathe in -- much less drink -- effectively poisoned by an overgrowth of toxic algae in Lake Erie. In response, the state started a drinking water protection program called H2Ohio.

Now that program is facing deep cuts.
