I made a little Instagram reel about this image because it’s just so frickin’ cool

I'm very happy that this was a required reading when I was at school.
Really. I've sat through multiple meetings with this being the most popular pronunciation.
That also brings memories of this one situation when a guy insisted that I had pronounced my own name wrong, and he had heard it right 🤷
My family name is, funnily enough, impossible for speakers of Polish as well. Somehow everyone hears the second sound as /u/ (mood/, not /o/ (hot/. I routinely sound the beginning out when at an office or something.
If I were to choose the most heart-breaking and poignant grave sculpture I have seen, I would have picked this one.
First sound said like in giant.
And Gantt chart.
I cannot even tell what was the topic of the meeting 😂
By the way, this new chick bouba-kiki @science.org study fits nicely within bottom middle of my handy guide to main types of papers in the language sciences, for anyone keeping track. 🧪
Photo from the early 1970s of a man on horseback negotiating the Birmingham inner ring road at Holloway Head
I’m searching for the original and/or rights owner of this fabulous picture of Birmingham in the early 1970s. It popped up on my Instagram feed, but I’ve been unable to track it down.
Any leads? I’m really hoping to use it in a book.
(And would much appreciate a RT please)
The strongest version of this illusion I’ve seen! Absolute head-wrecker!
You will be fantastic!
In Polish it is pancernik. Coincidentally, we use exactly the same word for a battleship 🤷
It is very sad when you read a paper referenced in another paper and the referenced content is not in this original paper.
Jak pięknie! 😍 Czy to z plaży w Gdyni?
Congratulations 👏
What consistency with oneself is needed for the response to be reliable?
Yes, it is. "Ej" is even a separate word itself.

Giving what we can has implemented a fun game where you spin a globe to see how your starting point in life would compare if you were reborn today, randomly somewhere on earth.

Very interesting results!
For Polish speakers, the German 'Die Kurve' is not a homophone, but close enough, I say.
Happy birthday! 🎈🎂🎁
Książka o wysokich walorach edukacyjnych. Dzięki niej zrozumiałam, o jaką noc chodzi w "Zacznij od Bacha".
