that brother printer in the first image looks like the one i have lmao. it's a good printer! bought it for book-binding and it is so nice to have extremely cheap and easy b/w printing!
the secret is these black and white laser printers they always work, prices went way down to a reasonable level over a decade ago, stop falling for inkjet scams hewlett packard is doing immediate obsolescence on purpose

i then also try to have a printed-out hardcopy in a binder but that often lags behind. but it's the only real way i can keep my calendars and family trees together lmao. i couldn't figure out a way to do it in obsidian that i liked.
i do most of my drafting in 4thewords, and notes happen there and on paper a lot of the time. i am transferring everything to obsidian, which helps tremendously in keeping things straight because i can LINK THINGS TOGETHER. i have a little lore folder for #darkElfMafia to keep things straight!
